LOS ANGELES -- The month of May cant end soon enough for the battered Milwaukee Brewers. Phillip Taylor Jersey . No sooner did Aramis Ramirez return from a two-game absence than hot-hitting Jonathan Lucroy joined six teammates on the disabled list. Ramirez bounced back to tie the game with a homer and single home the go-ahead run in the sixth inning of Milwaukees 3-2 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday night. The Brewers put Lucroy on the 15-day DL with a broken right hand after the game. The catcher had a major league-leading .514 batting average with runners in scoring position. He said he hurt his hand while reaching under the bed in his hotel room on Sunday night for a lost sock as his wife moved a suitcase that fell on Lucroys hand. He took some swings at Dodger Stadium before the game to test his hand and it became clear he couldnt play. X-rays revealed the break. "It hurts our team a lot," manager Ron Roenicke said. "He feels really bad. Lucroy was certainly very important to what we are doing." Shaun Marcum (3-3) allowed one run and six hits in seven innings, struck out nine and walked two to end a two-game skid. "Ive never seen anything like this with all the injuries," Marcum said, reacting to the latest blow of losing Lucroy. "Its definitely a big loss. His leadership skills have been huge for us." John Axford pitched the ninth and earned his eighth save in nine chances. He put the potential tying run on first by walking pinch-hitter Ivan De Jesus Jr., who went to second on a wild pitch before Elian Herrera struck out to end the game. Ramirez homered leading off the fourth in his return to the lineup after missing two games with a bruised left elbow. "That was nice to come through," he said. "A lot of guys are going down. Everybody has to contribute now. Of course were going to miss Lucroy." The Brewers took a 3-1 lead in the sixth with two unearned runs following a blown call by first base umpire Todd Tichenor. Aaron Harang was charged with an error when Tichenor ruled that his throw to first on a dribbler by Norichika Aoki pulled James Loney off the bag. TV replays clearly showed that Loney had one foot on the bag when he stretched into foul territory for the throw. "I know I kept my foot on the bag. I was a hundred per cent sure," Loney said. "Thats the frustrating part of it. Maybe the plate umpire had a better view, and thats what we wanted to check on." Dodgers manager Don Mattingly went out to urge Tichenor to appeal with home plate umpire Brian Gorman. "Its a play where the guy (Loney) goes across the line, and it makes it look bad," Mattingly said. "But he was on the bag and you know it. I asked him to get help, but he wouldnt do that. He told me he was a hundred per cent sure." Ryan Braun walked before Ramirez singled in Aoki, giving the Brewers a 2-1 lead and chasing Harang. George Kottaras bunted into a force, putting runners at the corners, and Rickie Weeks followed with a sacrifice fly against Javy Guerra. Harang (3-3) gave up three runs -- one earned -- and four hits in five-plus innings, while striking out four and walking three. "There were at-bats where I was just missing. I was just getting too deep into counts," he said. "They were fouling off some good pitches, and that will run your pitch count real fast. Brauns first at-bat he fouled some good pitches off, and he laid off some others that were down and out of the zone. I was trying to get him to swing at something off the plate." The Dodgers run came on Andre Ethiers RBI double with two outs in the first. They had the bases loaded in the third when Loney flied out to centre to end the inning. The Dodgers 32-16 record remains the best in the majors despite having six players on the disabled list, including four starters -- although slugger Matt Kemp could return from a hamstring injury Tuesday. "They got good pitching and thats why theyre winning ballgames," Ramirez said. Notes: The Brewers will recall C Martin Maldonado from Triple-A Nashville to take Lucroys roster spot. Craig Gentry turned a spot start into a tiebreaking hit and the Rangers avoided a four-game sweep in a matchup of AL division leaders, rallying past the New York Yankees 10-6 Thursday. Texas had lost eight straight at Yankee Stadium overall. The high-scoring Rangers had done little in this series, too, totalling only four runs before getting 16 hits in the finale. "I dont know about putting up 10 runs every night," manager Ron Washington said. "Its certainly the offence I expect to see most nights." Gentry started for the first time in two weeks, and his two-out, two-run single in the seventh inning put the Rangers ahead 7-5. Adrian Beltre also had three RBIs, and Josh Hamilton doubled twice and scored three times. "We know what were capable of," said David Murphy, who contributed three hits. Taking no chances, Washington summoned closer Joe Nathan for the first time in more than a week to finish it out in a non-save situation. Ichiro Suzuki got three hits for the Yankees, who had won seven of eight. Texas tagged starter Ivan Nova and a shaky New York bullpen. "Its going to happen. Our guys arent going to be perfect out there," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said. Texas took a 2-0 lead into the sixth before both teams broke loose with the bats. It was a seesaw from then on, with the Yankees rallying for a 5-4 lead before the Rangers came back with three in the seventh. Murphy hit a tying RBI double off Boone Logan (4-1) and, after an intentional walk that loaded the bases, Gentry lined a tiebreaking single up the middle off Joba Chamberlain. Gentry delivered his first hit since July 29 and tied a career best for RBIs. Working out and staying fresh is the key to being ready, he said. "Definitely dont mentally shut it down," Gentry said. The Yankees closed to 7-6 in the bottom half on Mark Teixeiras RBI grounder. Reliever Michael Kirkman struck out Andruw&nnbsp;Jones, whod homered the previous inning, with runners at the corners to prevent further damage. Joe Haden Jersey. Beltre added a sacrifice fly and Geovany Soto hit an RBI single in the eighth off a struggling Chamberlain. "Theres some inconsistency. Hell make some really good pitches and then miss his spot," Girardi said. Down 4-0, the Yankees once again picked on Derek Holland while rallying for five runs in the sixth. Batting cleanup for the first time this season, Jones tied it with a two-out, two-run homer that umpires confirmed on video review. Texas third baseman Beltre pointed foul the whole time Jones rounded the bases, but the replay showed the ball clearly landed several feet inside the left-field foul pole. Rookie right fielder Mike Olt then dropped Casey McGehees fly for a two-base error and Russell Martin met reliever Tanner Scheppers with a go-ahead single. Holland began the afternoon 0-5 with a 9.26 ERA against the Yankees in regular-season play, though he has beaten them in relief during the playoffs. Scheppers (1-0) won his first big league decision. The no-decision left Nova with one win in his last seven starts. In trouble early, he struck out Hamilton on three pitches with the bases loaded and no outs in the third and escaped that jam without allowing a run. NOTES: Yankees 2B Robinson Cano didnt start for the second straight day because of a stiff neck. He walked as a pinch hitter in the eighth and pulled into third on a double by Suzuki -- some fans thought Cano couldve scored on the play. ... 2B Ian Kinsler and RF Nelson Cruz didnt start, with Washington trying to rest them. Cruz pinch hit and stayed in to play right field. ... Derek Jeters RBI single in the Yankees sixth extended his hitting streak to 12 games. ... Rangers RHP Yu Darvish turned 26. He is set to start Friday night in Toronto. He is seeking his 13th win, which would set a team record for rookies. ... Yankees RHP Phil Hughes starts Friday night at home against Boston. ' ' '
