(Sports Network) - The Baltimore Orioles are coming off a split of a doubleheader versus the Toronto Blue Jays and will try to bounce back Tuesday in the continuation of a four-game series at Camden Yards. The Blue Jays, who are 1-7 on a 10-game road trip, will send Aaron Laffey to the mound Tuesday and he is 0-4 over his last eight appearances. The Orioles are 10-6 against the Blue Jays this season. Baltimore had its six- game home-winning streak against Toronto come to an end last night. Yankees at Twins The New York Yankees attempt to stretch their lead atop the American League East on Tuesday when they continue a three-game set with the Minnesota Twins at Target Field. New York won for the eighth time in nine tries in Mondays opener, as Andy Pettittes six scoreless innings were backed by four home runs and the Yankees rolled to a 6-3 win. The Yankees increased their lead over Baltimore for the top spot in the AL East to 1 1/2 games after the Orioles split a doubleheader with Toronto on Monday. On Tuesday, New York turns to righty Phil Hughes, who is 16-12 with a 4.05 ERA. Hughes won his third straight start on Thursday against the Blue Jays and beat the Twins the last time he faced them. Minnesota, meanwhile, will rely on righty Esmerling Vasquez, who is 0-2 with a 6.75 ERA. Vasquez did not get a decision on Thursday in Cleveland, as he surrendered three runs and six hits in 5 2/3 innings. This will be his first start against the Yankees. Indians at White Sox The Chicago White Sox may have saved their season with a thrilling win in Mondays opener. On Tuesday, they hope to stretch their advantage atop the American League Central in the middle test of a three-game set against the Cleveland Indians at U.S. Cellular Field. Chicago appeared headed towards a sixth straight loss which would have dropped it into a first-place tie with the Detroit Tigers in the division. Liriano, who is 5-5 lifetime versus the Tribe, is 6-11 overall on the season with a 5.24 ERA. Cleveland, meanwhile, will counter with right-handed rookie Corey Kluber, who is 1-4 with a 5.36 ERA. Kluber did not get a decision on Thursday versus Minnesota, as he surrendered three runs and five hits in six innings of a 4-3 win. This will be his first-ever start against the White Sox. Chicago is 9-4 versus the Indians this season. Royals at Tigers Venezuelan righty Anibal Sanchez can keep Detroit in the thick of the American League Central Division race tonight when the Tigers host the Kansas City Royals in game two of a four-game series at Comerica Park. The Tigers enter the game in second place in the Central, where they trail the White Sox by a game in the regular seasons final week.
