Clothing and description: Takeshi stands at 5'10" and weighs in at 170 lbs, a result of his tougher and heavier build than most guys hailing from Japan, as well as constant exercise. His skin is average for his decent, however his bright blue eyes are a little unusual. Takeshi's longer hair is dyed and spiked, the colors matching this, and spiked as shown in the drawing. He also has a tattoo of the roman numeral VII on his right forearm, as a symbol of his status as the heir to the title of the seventh generation head of the Mori Clan. He also sports a lighter colored scar across the bridge of his nose. He has a slightly broader chin with a meatier appearing face, though it's very slight. His mouth seems to naturally frown slightly, though not entirely in a disapproving way, just more one of mild irritation.

Takeshi's outfits take inspiration from Banchos and thugs. His school outfit starts with an untucked white long-sleeved button-up shirt, the sleeves rolled up just below his elbow. He wears a short white and black tie with the image of Shinigami's skull on the end, usually properly tied, but gets loosened for surprise brawls. Underneath the button-up he wears a dark grey (ooo) UnderArmor type shirt, in case something should happen to his button-up in a fight. Over the button-up he wears a pale blue (ooo) puffy vest. He wears tan baggy pants with a chain on them, held up by a simple black belt and rolled up to the top of his boots. These boots have black elastic straps rather than laces, and a zipper on the inner side to allow for removal/donning of the dark blue (ooo) boots with white tongues . They are steel tipped on the toes as are the heels. His mission outfit swaps the colors of his pants and button-up to black, and he swaps the vest for a black Bancho-style trench coat, as well as ditching the tie. On the back of the trenchcoat is the roman numerals VII in the same blue as his boots.

After his Magus Soul transformation, Takeshi dons a sentai-esque suit. The base is a body suit of dark blue, with the majority of the "armor" being white with light blue trim. Certain details like the fins on his helmet as well as the parts around the emblem on his chest and sides of his helmet are goldenrod in color. The visor that extends from the edge of his helmet nearly down two his face mask is a transparent red, in stark contrast to the rest of his color scheme. The pieces are outfitted onto him during the flash of light that appears when he activates his transformation and is transported to a pocket dimension.

History: Somewhere in the Kyoto Prefecture resides the Mori Yakuza Clan Manor. That abode is where Takeshi grew up, as the next in line to lead the clan. However, this wasn't your typical yakuza clan. I mean, what kind of yakuza boss marries the head of police? Well, aside from Souta Mori.

In his first year of high school, Souta fell in love with Student Council member Kazumi Fujimoto. Up until this point, Souta had built a reputation as being one of the biggest, baddest banchos around, in addition to being the heir to a yakuza clan. However, Kazumi wasn't intimidated by this, and on the first day of classes, she told him off for not following the dress code, among many other minor offenses. Souta was stunned that someone still challenge him so boldly, and something about her attitude made him both hate and respect her. These conflicting feelings caused them to butt heads regularly at school, though coming to sort of friendly terms eventually.

It wasn't until the last month or so of high school that Souta realized his feelings were love, despite pretty much everyone around them having seen it as such for years. However, due to how late in the year he realized it, he was unable to confess to the Kazumi, who'd become Student Council President before having to step down to study for college exams. The two graduated, Souta's feelings unconfessed.

Resigned to take control of the Mori family, Souta tried to push his feelings out of his head. However, when a few years later he saw Kazumi receiving a police award on TV, he reacted with shock, surprised that she'd gone that route, as he'd always figured she was going along more of an academic route. Souta ordered that everyone leave him for a time, and he went to visit his high school friend, nevermind that he was a yakuza leader walking straight into police territory.

Souta happened to encounter Kazumi on her way out of the precinct, and despite not having seen each other for a few years, they both recognized each other on sight and greeted each other as friends. Souta invited her out to coffee, and she immediately accepted, perhaps even startling quickly. The two caught up with each other, Souta avoiding talking about his work as a family head. Having had a lot of fun with each other, the two began hanging out frequently, despite the many protests from the more senior members of his family warning it to be a generally bad idea.

Through their talking on outings, Souta learned of Kazumi's dream to become the chief of police. It was easily the thing that she was the most excited about when they went shopping or walking together, more so than small dogs or cute clothes. Souta developed a lot of guilt over it, knowing that if it were found out that he was a family head that it might destroy her reputation. Even still, he kept quiet about it, the guilt eating him from the inside everytime she asked him to join her on a morning run or coffee break.

They continued like this for a few years, and soon it seemed that Kazumi's dream was within reach. In fact, having risen so far in the police, with the current head beginning plans for retirement, it seemed like she was the obvious choice. Thus, it was no surprise when the announcement that Kazumi was going to become the next chief came. She called Souta as soon as she heard to tell him. Souta could feel his heart fall when she told him, and he realized that he knew what he had to do. Thus he invited her to a park they frequented, telling her he had something to tell her.

At the park, he told her that he couldn't keep seeing her now that she'd become the chief of police. Stunned by the sudden announcement, she questioned him as to why, and he could only tell her that it was because he wasn't the kind of guy she should be around. When further badgered as to why, Souta revealed that he was the head of a yakuza clan, and that being friends with him would only damage her reputation should it come to light.

It was Kazumi's turn to reveal something to Souta. She told him that ever since they'd met in high school that she'd known who he was, and that never stopped her from seeing him as his own person. He was a rather kind person generally, and she didn't want to lose someone like that because of her dream. Souta was becoming extremely emotional now, both from his pain of feeling he had to separate as well as the kindness she showed him. He told her that he couldn't bear to cause her to lose her dream, because he wanted his first love to be happy. Realizing what he said, he immediately covered his mouth, shocked that he let that slip.

After a few moments of silence, Kazumi asked Souta what he meant. Realizing there was no backing down now, Souta confessed to her, and after doing so turned to leave. As he started to walk away, he was suddenly tackled from behind, and Kazumi began beating his back with her fists over and over, calling him an idiot with each hit. After a few seconds, she stopped and fell down on top of him, crying, asking him why he didn't tell her that they felt the same way sooner.

Then, something clicked in Souta's brain. He stood up, turning them both around to see each other's tear stained faces as he told her his idea. Since she was to be the head of police, and he was the head of his family, they both had tremendous power over their respective organizations. So, Souta proposed turning his family into a secret, anti-yakuza task force of the police. They'd work for the law, "occupying" territory in order to help prevent crime there, as well as infiltrate other families to take them down. Souta'd never truly been comfortable with being a true yakuza, and if it meant that they could be together, he was willing to turn his whole family upside down and put them through hell to do so.

They decided that the idea just might work, and decide to try and make it happen. After many hard months of negotiations on both sides, a plan finally came together to make their idea a reality. All crimes committed under Souta's leadership were to be confessed, and large amounts of money to be paid to the victims and police department would be given as a form of reparations for their crime. Any incident involving fatalities were to be punished with a trial and jail time, though the time was reduced if the yakuza responsible was in agreement with the merger plan.

Then, after crimes had been paid for, the Mori clan was to stop any ongoing schemes such as demanding "protection money" or running businesses as covers for illegal operations. Any yakuza who were deemed to not be 100% for working for the police were excommunicated from the family, and the remaining yakuza were to go through police training, becoming bona fide officers of the law. If they were to revert to their yakuza ways, they would be held accountable as an officer, thus receiving much harsher consequences. However, as full police officers, they were given many rights as well.

Thus, the Mori family as it is known today was born, and eventually, so was Takeshi. Lots of backstory before he's even been born, I know, but it's important to know what kind of place Takeshi comes from. His upbringing was tightly knit with his family's unique situation. While he didn't end up making a ton of friends his age in his early years, he was the pride of the entire clan, and every yakuza was willing to entertain him. They were kind of like the fun uncles and aunts that were actually your parent's close friends. As a result of this closeness though, Takeshi would often hear of the various exploits the clan had, and he began to revere them in a way, much along the lines of the super sentai anime he'd watch.

As he grew up, he wanted to help with the various assignments his family went out on. Of course he was barred from going out on the field and helping, but seeing how badly he wanted to be involved, Takeshi was regularly invited into the room they used as mission control. When he entered middle school having shown a knack for engineering and many of the operations that took place in mission control, he was allowed to start helping out a little, usually tasks such as keeping the place clean, occasionally being shown how to maintain hardware and software. By high school, he was a full-fledged member of the mission control staff, even recognized by the police as sort of like working as a temp.

However, Takeshi had to look the part of the next in line in a yakuza clan in order to keep his family running as it had been. Takeshi adopted his current style about halfway through middle school, and has developed a like for it. He kept up his appearance as well as supporting his ego in a way by getting involved in some brawls at school where bullying happened, but he'd always justify it as the bullies annoying him. This served his ego that in what he really wanted to do to help his family was go on field missions. He learned various martial arts from some of the more experience yakuza who frequented is house, as well as exercising regularly to build strength and endurance.

So when he was walking home from school one day and saw yakuza from another family assaulting a woman in an alley, Takeshi got ahead of himself and stepped in to try to help the woman. It didn't really go quite as he'd hoped though. Sure, he was able to provide the woman with the chance to get away, but in turn, he got a hard hit on the head in the brawl and was knocked out.

While he was unconscious, Takeshi dreamed that he was in a room very much like the mission control back at his house. However, this room was much larger, and there were windows that opened up to an airport runway many feet below. On the console directly in front of him, he saw a strange looking cell phone, resting in a dock that seemed to have been built for it. For some reason, Takeshi thought it was extremely important that he take the phone, so of course he did. The moment it left the dock however, the entire room started shaking, starting from a mild vibration and growing into a violent rumble. He didn't know why, but he felt that it was absolutely crucial that he keep ahold of this strange phone and he did, watching as a plane took off through the window of the strange shaking room.

Takeshi suddenly regained consciousness, finding himself bound by rope in a warehouse somewhere. His pocket felt strangely heavy, and upon closer inspection, the strange phone from his dream had appeared there. bewildered by it's appearance, he pushed it from his mind for the moment, seeing as how his situation was rather dire. Thankfully the yakuza who'd captured him didn't seem to know who he was, and were arguing amongst themselves about what to do with him, unaware that their knot work was subpar at best.

Takeshi managed to undo the knot, and acting on pure instinct, he drew his phone from his pocket, drawing a crescent slash in the air with it and shouting, "Kyoto Hero, Rock On!" There was a brilliant flash of light, and when Takeshi emerged, he found himself wearing what appeared to be a sentai outfit. He didn't know how he knew exactly but he announced himself as being WingMan, an ally of justice, and charged at the yakuza, using the transformation's amazing power to beat them up pretty nicely before a Mori Clan unit came in, responding to the GPS in Takeshi's shoe.

After his first transformation into WingMan, Souta saw an opportunity that would allow Takeshi to fulfil his desire to help the Clan fight with the police through vigilantism. If there were places where the Clan couldn't send large numbers or older people without arousing suspicion, it was Takeshi's time to shine, acting as a one-man-army of sorts. After about a year of this, Takeshi discovered the Fragmented nature of his soul, as well as how to use it to his advantage through Soul Frags.

In fact, just after he graduated high school at age 18, Takeshi face one of the most influential missions like this of his life. In order to extort the Mori Clan, a rival clan, the Matsumoto abducted Kaori, Takeshi's little sister. Thus, he rushed to the scene to save his beloved little sister. Full of sound and flurry, Takeshi went straight to the scene, busting down the wooden gates with a sledgehammer. Alarms blaired, and many of the yakuza nearby began rushing to the main gate.

Not giving a care for the grunts that were starting to surround him, Takeshi flung the sledgehammer into the air, smacking one unlucky soul with it in the face. The remaining grunts surrounded Takeshi, brandishing bats with nails driven through them, katanas, and other melee weapons. Takeshi let a rage filled grin cross his face, as he transformed into WingMan, slipping the Soul Phone out of its holder on his wrist, swinging it in an arc with one of his favorite things to shout, "Kyoto Hero, Rock On!"

As WingMan began taking down the attackers, a rather flamboyantly dressed... man? began aiding him. “You’re putting on quite the little light show here, dear.” Takeshi merely nodded as he sent a WingBuster shot through a yakuza's abdomen. The two finished the group off with ease, and as soon as the last body hit the ground, Takeshi pointed a WingBuster at the mysterious stranger, finding a snub-nosed pistol pointed right back at him.

“Alright, now who are you?” "No need to be so hasty, kid; we’ve obviously got similar goals here. The local police chief's daughter whom was recently kidnapped. You’ve come to rescue her, right?” “Damn straight, that's my sister.”

The man introduced himself as Lammy, and confessed a similar goal of taking down the Matsumoto Clan, for a very different reason albeit, but a common goal none the less. They easily cleared the estate and rescued Kaori, taking down several Kishin Eggs and creating a battle honed friendship with Lammy. The boys return Kaori to the Mori Manor, and Souta shows his gratitude with his forehead planted on the ground as he bows.

Impressed by Takeshi's performance, Lammy invited Takeshi to join him as a partner at his Kishin fighting agency known as "Face The Music." Souta thought it would give Takeshi excellent experience that would help when he took over the Mori Clan, and heavily recommended Takeshi join Lammy. Already elated to have found another Magus Soul to fight crime with, Takeshi eagerly accepted the offer, returning to Europe with Lammy.

Over the next year, the two took on many difficult cases, developing an almost Sherlock and Watson like relationship. The fought, laughed, and chilled together. However, recently a case hit a bit close to home, resulting in the destruction of the original Face The Music offices. The duo relocated to Shibusen to be closer to the action in a sense, picking up jobs Shibusen couldn't ask their students to do or lacked the manpower for. When not working for Face The Music however, Takeshi works in a pet shelter.

Personality: Takeshi is very kind and caring. He would never harm an innocent, human or animal. He's easy going and laid back for the most part, hanging with the few friends he makes and having as much fun laughing and playing video games with them as he can.

In contrast to his yakuza upbringing and his harsh appearance, Takeshi is actually very bright, earning top marks on his tests in middle school, and he continues to score well at Shibusen. His smarts are especially prevalent in the area of music, which has begun a secret obsession of his. Starting in middle school with him learning the guitar, Takeshi has turned to the acoustic guitar since arriving in Death City, the subject matter of his songs taking the light tones of love songs, as well as the upbeat tunes of some swing as he learned the piano as well. Takeshi's singing voice is decently better than average, able to reach upper registers a guy of his size would normally be able to reach.

The secret obsession side of his affinity to music comes from one of his favorite genres, extremely girly J-Pop and Vocaloid music. Takeshi will often lose track of his surroundings in the shower and begin singing Hatsune Miku at full volume and exactly on pitch. Much to his embarrassment, there have been a couple of times where his neighbors have come and asked him to keep his singing down as it could be heard through the walls. All of the music of this type that he owns is hidden under his bed where normal boys would put porn, as are the romance manga and light novels he owns, also a dark secret in his opinion.

There are times where Takeshi will publicly perform his music however, such as the occasional afternoon one in a while where he will spend time in the park playing his guitar to collect donations for the shelter he works at. He performs both covers and occasionally his own original stuff, but he gets bashful about those, so he usually sticks to the covers. While playing the guitar and singing, his harsh appearance softens, and he seems much more approachable. He even manages to collect a decent amount of donations, all of which go into keeping the shelter running.

Takeshi's smarts are also prevalent in the area of engineering. Due to the work he did for his clan, he's got a pretty advanced knowledge of weaponry and how to make it, especially in the field of hidden weaponry. He can maintain and repair a fair few guns by heart, and can do the same with most any other given internet access.

Takeshi is extremely loyal to anyone he deems a "friend." His strong sense of justice is even more prone to leading to violence when a friend is in danger, and he will put everything on the line for a friend with no concern for himself or his safety, deeming himself to be of less importance than the rest of the world. Should injury come to a friend or ally under his watch, he will hold a grudge against the attacker until he feels he has repaid them in full, plus a little interest on the debt.

Abilities:

  • Technique Name: Magus Soul, The Power From Within!
Effects/Description: Takeshi possesses a uncommon soul type called a Magus Soul. This soul allows him to transform, tapping into his soul to utilize her full potential. This is done using a cell phone which is a construct of his soul and works as a channel for his powers. He uses his soul's power create a costume reflecting his personality and self. When the transformation is active, Takeshi's strength and general power is increased. His strength is augmented to the level of an professional college football player, and he's able to run and leap like a professional free-runner. His mental processing speed is also slightly increased, giving him a slight edge when it comes to problem solving, processing large amounts of data, etc., but his constitution and endurance are not enhanced, leaving him with his natural stamina. He's also able to use his soul to access unique abilities and attacks. These are all only available when transformed.

  • Technique Name: Fragmented Soul, The Power From Others!
Effects/Description: There exists a rather interesting difference between Takeshi's Magus Soul and others however. Under Soul Perception, it looks almost as if the soul is cracked and missing pieces, though in actuality, that's just how his soul is after the violent circumstances leading to the discovery of his Magus Soul. After defeating a powerful enemy (such as a kishin egg, a demon weapon, a witch, etc.) while using his Magus Soul transformation, Takeshi's soul will create a small fragment, called a Soul Frag, that imitates that defeated person's Soul Wavelength.

Soul Frags act as attacks/buffs/etc. Takeshi can use the imitate one of the abilities of the person they were formed from. While Takeshi had Soul Frags from multiple people, he can only use one person's Soul Frag per post, and he can't use another Soul Frag in the next post. A single Soul Frag can only be used up to four times per thread, meaning that can use all four uses of a Soul Frag in one post, or split it up over multiple posts, but in total, a Soul Frag cannot be used more than four times per thread. His total uses of Soul Frags in a thread also has a limit, as it cannot exceed 30 total uses of Soul Frags.

These are Takeshi's current Soul Frags:

    • Barrier - creates a low powered force field/shield that will fall after one attack hits it.

  • Technique Name: Kyoto Hero, Rock On!
Effects/Description: Upon reciting the above incantation and moving his Soul Phone in the shape of the slash on his emblem, the outside world sees a bright flash of light where Takeshi is and he emerges in his full WingMan regalia. To him he enters a pocket dimension wherein he is outfitted piece by piece, similar to this. The transformation is more than aesthetic, and Takeshi’s strength and wits are augmented, improving combat prowess and aptitude for jumping and leaping great heights and distances. Takeshi doesn't have access to any of his other abilities if he is not transformed. Once transformed, Takeshi will remain so unless he willfully decides to de-transform or is knocked unconscious. After the transformation is dispelled he must wait two posts before she can transform again.

  • Technique Name: WingBusterBlade, Let's Go!
Effects/Description: While transformed into WingMan, Takeshi has a very weak attack. He can transform either of his arms into either the WingBuster or the WingBlade, thus the joint name of the WingBusterBlade. The WingBuster is a single shot Soul Bullet can that can fire with relatively quick speed, though it does very little damage. The WingBlade is composed of Soul Energy, but isn't very powerful, and is essentially a normal sword as far as what it can cut, though the damage it does to a person is a little low.

The WingBusterBlade can be used as often as needed, but there are limits on switching between its forms. Once an arm has transformed into either the WingBuster or WingBlade, it cannot transform into the other until the next post, though it can transform back into another hand. Once it has transformed back into a normal hand however, it can not transform back into the WingBusterBlade until the next post.

Combat Style: Takeshi relies on WingMan for everything combat related. He does train in boxing regularly, and works out quite a bit, so he isn't completely defenseless without it, but the majority of his power comes from his Fragmented Magus Soul. Takeshi closes the distance with his speed, attacking with the WingBuster while approaching. Once he's in range, he'll switch to the WingBlade, and attack with melee. He tends to be rather sparing with his uses of his Soul Frags, as their limited uses are highly detrimental.

His boxing technique features a mix of the counter puncher and swarmer styles, mixing short stretches of defensive tactics with stretches of all-out assault. Takeshi also has rudimentary knowledge of grapples from gang brawls, but not enough to go head to head with a pro. Takeshi's counter puncher style involves blocking and dodging the opponent to tire them, attempting to allow as few hits to land as possible. When he feels that he has found an opening, Takeshi will use swarmer tactics, where he will simply take the hits as they come in order to keep up a constant stream of blows.

As far as strength, Takeshi is very well built. While not WingMan, Takeshi can bench the average considering his experience and about 300 pounds. However, as WingMan, his strength is augmented to that of a college football player, benching 500. His ability to jump around is also augmented from the levels of a novice free runner to a professional one, pulling off nearly anime-esque jumps.

Takeshi can easily take a thug in a one-on-one fight, and can definitely hold his ground when fighting a group of them due to lots of experience. As a part of his work for Face The Music, he regularly fought Kishin Eggs as well, so he can definitely combat them.

Miscellaneous Information: Takeshi is fluent in Japanese, English, and Italian. He learned Italian in case it was ever needed when dealing with actual mafioso for his family.

Strengths:

  • Magus Soul provides passives to help combat
  • Fragmented Soul provides adaptability
  • WingBusterBlade for standard attacks

Weaknesses:

  • Can't use abilities if he hasn't transformed
  • Soul Frags have very limited uses, are hard to get
  • WingBusterBlade is fairly low damage

It’s awesome to see Takeshi’s rework done, There’s a little work we’re gonna have to do here, but I’m really excited to polish Takeshi up and see an amazing character come out. So shall we get to it?

Clothing and Description: This section is definitely solid as it stands, but I would like to try and challenge you to describe his physical appearance more. For ideas tell me about his lips, or perhaps the shape of his eyes or chin.

Abilities: So here’s where our real modding comes in. As it stands Takeshi is just too strong. Even though he only has four “declared” abilities because one of them has sub abilities that other characters might have as full abilities, he effectively has 6-7. If you could pick one soul frag to start off with, and then earn the others later I think that would help

Combat Style: As a formality, could you go ahead and add a comparative measure of Takeshi’s strength please.

Overall I’m really excited for this new Takeshi. He just needs a little more polish up before he’s ready to go.
