Character: Yomo

Missions to hand in: China Town Tango (Hard)

New Ability Name: Ruyi Jingu Bang!
Effects/Description: Ruyi Jingu Bang, referred to as Yomo affectionately as "Ruyi", is an unusually long red Bō staff with two gold bands at each end; measuring in at around 6'0" in length. Currently, the rod seems to process only a handful of supernatural qualities, making its definition as a Demon Tool questionable at best...however, time will tell as to how potent its power will become.
Currently, besides seemingly increasing ones skill with the weapon, the rod is curiously able to transform into a sewing needle, which Yomo tucks behind her ear while the weapon is not in use. However, it should be noted that other students that have attempted to lift or hold on to the needle, or the staff itself, have found it to be extremely heavy, while Yomo seems to have no problems at all with its weight, and actually refers to the weapon as being fairly light.
For Yomo, the staff feels light but delivers hard, heavy strikes, while for others, the weapon is hard and heavy to use, and delivers weak and often harmless strikes.

Any other changes: Yomo has gained enough experience during combat to where she could no longer be considered a "novice" fighter, and is well on her way to becoming a martial force to be reckoned with. However, she is by no means a master, and is still prone to making clumsy mistakes from time to time.

I'm not entirely sure what to do with the changes section, would you like me to add it to the end of your combat style section?

You mentioned to me that one of the demon tool's properties implies that being hit by it is like being hit by a heavy pole rather than the light pole that it feels like to Yomo, could you please clarify if this is indeed the case or not?

otherwise I'm not seeing much else wrong with it.

Yes that is the case, Tats; just add it to the Abilities.

Might add just a single sentence in Yomo's Combat Style: "Uses her other Demon Tools to her advantage as well."

"Gosh, I'm dead tired..." Yomo slumped against a rock, taking a water bottle from the inner lining of her jacket, and chugging it down in one gulp. "Guan, how far did that map say we still had left to go? Maybe I should have taken him with us instead of asking directions..."

The jacket cleared her throat, or at least, sounded as if she was, before responding. "Well dear, from what I remember, our destination should be at the top of this mountain."
"Yeah I know but like, how far is that even."
"A couple of miles or so...but continuing on this spiraled path might take longer than a direct approach."
Yomo walked from the rock to observe the edge of the pathway; from there, through the dense forest that she had traveled through, she could see the branches and tree trunks that towered towards the mountain, stretching like clawing hands. Several less twisted trees grew along the side of the mountain, sheltering the road from sunlight and coating it in shade. Peering through them, Yomo swore she could see the top...
"Alright, Guan! Because I really don't have to walk all the way there, we're going to try something different!"
Slipping her hands through the sleeves of the jacket, the girl smiled, taking off the article of clothing and putting it on inside-out, so that the inner lining was on the outside. Skipping over to the side of the mountain, her white hair bobbing with each step, Yomo turned her back to face the horizon. "Guan, with your arms, I'm certain you could just climb up there! Like, a spider or something!" She cried triumphantly, raising an arm and pointing an index finger skyward.
The jacket chuckled. "If you really think that'll work, dear..." It spoke as eight long arms protruded from its back. "I'll give it my all...even if this looks a little ridiculous."

Digging it's hard, fabric fingers into the side of the mountain, the jacket began it's slow and spider-like ascent of the mountain, bursting through canopy after canopy, much to Yomo's pleasure...and pain. The ride proved to be a little rougher than she imagined, and by the time they had reached the top, she was a little bit out of breath. Spitting out a mouthful of leaves, Yomo returned to wearing the Demon Tool normally. "See, I had a feeling something like that would happen, darling...but you seemed so gung-ho about reaching the top that I didn't think to suggest another alternative."
Yomo shook her head. "Nah, the important thing is that we're finally here!" She exclaimed, tugging a twig out of her hair.

Laid out before them was an expansive body of water; sunlight glimmered across its surface as several lilies swayed in the wind, floating carelessly. Making her way towards the lake's edge, Yomo pulled a pair of goggles from her pocket, and tied her hair back with a pink scrunchies she had kept around her wrist. "Alright Guan...I uh...I don't want you getting wet, so, I'm gonna' have you stay here, okay?" There weren't many times that she went without her jacket, so it felt very odd and extremely uncomfortable leaving Guan-Yin tied around a particularly large tree, whose branches stretched over the water.
"I promise I won't be gone too long." Yomo called back to the Demon Tool, taking off her shirt to reveal a simple dark blue one-piece swimsuit.

"Dear, don't worry about me; I'll be fine." The jacket's words were reassuring, and with a firm nod, the girl raced to the edge of the water.
With a leap, she brought her arms forward, stretching them out and past her head, bringing them together. A splash.
The water felt cool...Yomo could have spent a good afternoon swimming along the lake's bank, but now wasn't the time for games, she thought. After copious amounts of iced coffee and all-night study sessions, Yomo had deduced the location of a long-forgotten Demon Tool, thought only to be a thing of myth. Of course, finding solid evidence was difficult considering it had only been mentioned in works of fiction, and this only made her request to attempt to locate the Tool that much more difficult to accept. However, after hours of pleading and wrapping her arms around Shinigami-sama's legs (or...leg...whatever that thing was...) she had finally obtained permission to seek the artifact out.

Her head bobbing above the water, Yomo took one huge breath before diving down into the water. From what she had read, the Demon Tool was allegedly located in a temple, forgotten by time at the bottom of the lake...but the water wasn't clear enough to see the bottom, let alone an ancient building. So Yomo did the first thing that came to mind: try and talk to it.
Bubbles escaping from her open mouth, the girl let out a blubbered "Hellooooo! Is anyone down theeeere?!" which sounded more or less like "HABLUBLUHOO! ISHB ERYBON DOWSH DEEEEEEEEERE?!"

Yomo came up for air...dived back down...came back up for air again...no response. "HABLUBLUBLUOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOCOUGH cough COUGH" Yomo choked on a bit of water this time, and rushed to the surface to replenish her air supply. Sneezing, and coughing, Yomo wiped her eyes...waiting.
A good five minutes passed, and Yomo was growing increasingly more impatient. After another ten minutes, she had just about given up.
"You know what, FINE. SEE IF I CARE." She yelled, splashing a fist into the water as her voice echoed across the lake's surface.

"Who has awakened my slumber?" A deep voice bellowed from below.

Yomo's eyes widened, but her frustration got the better of her. "Hey, why didn't you answer the first time?" She looked from side to side, trying to determine where from underneath the voice was coming from.

"I've not seen a human here in many years...few have come seeking my presence, but none have ever succeeded...speak your purpose, girl."
Geez, this guy didn't beat around the bush..."Uh...I'm here to claim the Ryui Jingu Bang as it's owner! I guess..."
"Only those who have been deemed worthy my enter my chambers. Though your ability to communicate with me is impressive, I find it lacking it luster." The voice rang out. "Prove yourself unto me, and I shall grant you entrance."

Hmm...her hand at her chin, Yomo thought for a moment, then smiled. "Alright then, Mr. Temple! Stop me if you've heard this one before! Ahem..."

"A panda walks into a bar and orders a beer and a hamburger. After he eats he stands up stretches and pulls out a gun shooting everyone in the room but the bartender." Yomo pointed her index finger and thumb like a gun, making several BANG noises before continuing the joke. "The panda puts twenty dollars on the bar and turns to leave. As he walks out the door the bartender asks why the panda shot everyone. The panda tells him to look in the encyclopedia. The bartender looks up panda and he reads Panda: Large black and white mammal native to China. Eats shoots and leaves." Yomo finishes the joke with a BADUM-TSH.

After what seemed to be an eternity of silence, a low rumble began to shake the lake, causing it to ripple slightly. As the rumbling grew louder, the water began to froth and bubble. The lake quaked back and forth, and Yomo's teeth chattered as a structure burst from the depths in a humongous splash, coupled with a bellowing laugh that seemed to shake the very mountain the lake was situated in. "AHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAH" The voice boomed. "THAT IS THE FUNNIEST JOKE I HAVE EVER HEARD...IN FACT, IT'S THE ONLY ONE I'VE EVER HEARD! AHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA

Yomo smiled, knowing that not even the grumpiest of old buildings could resist a good joke. "Pure-hearted girl, chosen by fate, I bid you to come and take what is rightfully yours.
The temple, or rather, the tower had risen out of the water completely now, with several platforms having rushed to the surface as to led the way inside. Beneath her feet, Yomo had been pushed up out of the water by one of these platforms, and with shaky legs, had to regain her balance for a moment before hopping from one to the other.

The tower was fairly basic...a straight cylinder that seemed to rise into the sky endlessly, stretching into the clouds. Yomo's eyes wandered to a spiral staircase, but she really didn't want to have to climb up all that way...especially when this tower seemed just as tall as the mountain she had climbed. "I'm sorry, Mr. Tower...I don't mean to be rude, but, is there an elevator I could use?"
"Stand carefully at my center, and I shall take you to my top post-haste." The tower boomed.
The girl was soon being raced to the tip-top by a round, disk shaped platform in the floor that spun on the edge of the staircase. By the time Yomo got to the top, she had to take a moment to catch her breath. A single set of stairs led to the outside of the tower, and as the girl made her way to the roof, she shivered. A column of clouds wrapped around the tower like a tortilla, and all around her, Yomo could see circling wisps of fluffy white. Her own white hair whipped in the wind, blowing towards a pedestal positioned at the center of the tower.
Embedded in the pedestal was a long red staff, with two gold bands wrapped around each end. Walking over to it slowly, the girl hesitated for a moment before finally gripping it in her hands, pulling it out with a small tug. The weapon felt incredibly light and easy to handle...in fact, she was prompted to give it a little twirl...it felt right.
"So, what should I call you, Mr. Staff?"

"Name's Ruyi Jingu Bang. But you, little lady, can just call me Ruyi."
