Sup server admins. I have sen some servers giving the choice to use quake sounds and quake female souns and I have to admit...it's kind of badass. Is it something we could integrate into the 4L servers? |

I know Im not an admin, but may if I may just offer my two cents? Will it be optional to turn the sounds on? Personally, I try to avoid servers that play quake sounds, they annoy the hell out of me. Sorry if Im being too forward or anything. |

I agree with BB, but I agree too that sometimes it's fun to hear the Quake or UT type sounds, so I'd say first and foremost if it doesn't affect server performance, which we've been having trouble with, and secondly if it's optional for each player's own experience, then I'd be OK with it. |

Yeah... I would NOT like quake sounds due to people having to download them and I usually left servers if they had custom sounds because I don't like listening to them or even having to download them but I could live with it just cause I could turn it off, idk how others would feel by just having to download it. |

I think the file is relatively small and I have played on servers where it was optional too :) |

I love the quake sounds, I'd like to see this implemented. |

I hate them, probably because I never played quake. I could live with it if you could turn them off, it would better if you had to turn them on though. As in, opt in as opposed to opt out. Also, I don't like downloading random server files onto my comp. I don't mind the maps but the sounds I feel are superfluous |

If the server is going to have Quake sounds everyone is going to download the files, regardless if they choose to have it enabled when they are fully loaded in the game. Downloading isn't that big of an issue if you compress the files, they will download in less than a second each. .bz2 is usually what the "fast download" files are compressed into. |

yea, I understand that, and that is why I don't want it. My computer has a really hard time downloading files from tf2, including maps, I usually have to download maps by hand. It isn't a connection problem, it is a software problem. TF2 has a lot of issues on the mac. Edited by Von Pow Pow Kaboom, Jan 31 2012, 11:05 AM.

You don't download sounds if you have the option disabled from within the game, which is how I have played TF2 since time immemorial (technically, 2007). That said, UT sounds in any game but UT is kind of dumb. |
