Why do you Dress Up as a Star Wars Character
Posted by TX7798 (Members) at Jul 13 2010, 05:12 PM. 6 comments
Hey,
I am thinking about writing something about this in the future, and I will be asking the same question to several other groups I am in that share your enthusiasm with the Star Wars Saga.
So, the question is?
Why do you Dress Up as a Star Wars Character?
I guess I should go first.
When I started with a home made Mandalorian Armor, I just did it for fun and because I like Star Wars, but after some time, I found something else, a group of friends from all over the world, a way to bring happiness to other people, like children and some others not so young.
For me it is always another way to share with my kids, since they love the saga and we dress up together. And it provides a escape from the day to day things.
When I kid gives you a hug at a convention or at a hospital or at any event we participate, that is life changing, because in their little eyes, you are that character that they love so much, or that Star Wars character they just learned it existed, and ask you questions such as, where is your spaceship? or, do you work for Lord Vader, or, would you like to come home with me?
So, I guess I do this because it opens doors to do some other things that I would not be able to do if I was not part of this awesome group of people.
Thanks for having me.
And, May The Force Be With You.

Nice for reference on sizes for the buckets.

Business cards for CV!
Posted by Shadow (Supporter) at Jul 2 2010, 01:48 AM. 7 comments
The one thing I have been wanting for a while is a "business" card to hand out when I meet people at Cons. So with CV fast approaching I knew I wanted something for all the new people I plan to meet. So I designed a card and sent it to a print company. Monday I got my cards and they came out GREAT!!!

This will do until I get a trading card made.....someday....soon.
Here is a closer look at the card.

Armor Aid!

Here is a side project I've been working on the last two weeks. I take a tool box from time to time to events incase something happens to a costume. Well, I didn't want to carry a plain black tool box anymore.... so spray paint, painters tape and some weathering you get this!!!
ARMOR AID!

I plan to carry a bunch of tools and stuff with me to CV so now they'll travel in style.
Oh, the colors are also a possible costume I hope to start maybe next year.

Shadow Femtroopers?

I know how some feel about Femtroopers, some love them some hate them, so I hope I don't get blasted for this
But has anyone ever done a Shadow Femtrooper for a wife or girlfriend before?
I know that it doesn't make much sense, just thought it was a cool idea. Possibly for my wife.
Let me know what you all think, pos/neg comments?

Trooping in the heat...

Hi everyone, as summer approaches, I thought I would post links to two posts I wrote for the First Imperial Stormtrooper Detachment, and the JRS Squadron regarding Heat Injuries and Hydration while trooping.
Last weekend I participated in a troop in 95 degree weather with 97 percent humidity. Unfortunately one of the TKs didn't listen to me and wouldn't drink enough water and got really ill. So I thought of the others I interact with on the forums and decided that it would be a good idea to provide the same information to everyone.
Here are the links:
Fit Club Heat Exhaustion/Hydration info
Just scroll down until you reach the articles. They are fairly long, but contain good info.
Happy and safe trooping!
