The sad fact is that just because someone does it, doesn't make it right. The 501st Legion standards are high because we are the best at replicating what's portrayed on screen, in comics, and in books. The only accepted blasters for Stealth/Blackhole Troopers are those that were used by Imperial Stormtroopers in the movies or comics. Even the chaingun is a stretch unless you're going for an ARC trooper, which is a clonetrooper. Resources to make your own blasters are here: http://www.imperial-fleet.com/BBC/ My good friend Chris also has some good, inexpensive plans on his site: http://tk409.com/tk409.html Many can be made for $20-30. I guarantee you that any GML worth his/her salt will disallow a costume for a non-standard blaster. Save yourself the hassle and convert a Hasbro blaster. |

Yeah, I found a site where I can get a hasbro modifier kit. I guess thats the most practical thing to do. (since Master Replicas are so expensive) I think I will save up some money and get an MG34, use my Hasbro one when I make it, and try to find a droid blaster on ebay or somewhere and modiy that...then I think I'll be covered. P.S. Where can i find some darker lens at? (even though I probably wont be able see very well) |

Hope you have plenty of spare room in the calf sections of your armor. I use a pair of ankle length sketchers, and mine were a close fit even after shimming my armor. Boots that high are going to add some bulk. ~ Steve |

The thing is, I'd much prefer to have a boot that *does* go up the leg/calf section, rather that being ankle height where any movement of the calf armor reveal the sock behind it. Seems to me that special ops (rougher & tougher troopers than TK's) should wear more rugged gear (boots & gloves) while still looking very much alike anyway.. my armor is not assembled yet (it's actually in the mail) I'll look at how much room I have to fit a boot in the calf section.. if it can be accepted for 501st membership, I wouldnt give it a second thought |

Depending on your calf size you may have to add shims to your calf armor to accompany the boot. BTW for the sketchers, what did you use to shine them, I have a pair myself, and well, I'm not a guy, and shining shoes doesn't come to me as easily. |

My advise is NOT to go with those boots. Too tall, and even if the fit INTO your armor, this is going to be SOOOO HOT!! Also to wont be able to move as freely as if you use ankle leveled boots. |

Hey Mods, jut a suggestion, could you maybe sticky this thread so it's easier to find? I usually bounce all over the forum and forget where stuff is that I read and it would help to have the TX 501st requirement specs right up front. Maybe even move or copy the specs to the first post? Just a suggestion. |

Those boots are really way too high. If you cut them off, they would work but I'd suggest just a cheap pair from Wal-Mart. I'll find out the style and let you know. They're like $25 and just need a small modification to make them work. |

OK that are the best shops to get your extra's. When I asked the TK's from the Dutch Outpost what they use as undersuit. One of them recommended a 2 piece racing cyclist clothing. 1 It's a lot cooler and the moist is evaporating quite fast 2 The 2 piece has major advantages especially when you have to go for a quick pitsstop. And the most important thing is of this kind of clothing is the protection which is inside the pants, the crotch area. You need that too!! Especially when you are trooping a lot. I have heard from many troopers which hasn't that at the Rose parade, that it was most uncomfortable after a few miles of marching. It depends also from where you are, because diving clothing is a lot warmer and will keep the cold outide. Lycra is also a good clothing when it rains a lot. Maybe you can use these ideas to make trooping a lot comfortable than usual. |

Hi! My name is Rodney and I am also a member of the 501st. Currently, I am a Sith Lord (Darth Vader EP3 / SL-3184). I have recently purchased Shadow Trooper armor , and am now in the process of putting it all together. Right now I need some advice on where to purchase some reasonable priced boots. I also need advice on what kind of lenses to install in the helmet, and where can I purchase an E-11 blaster. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

Rodney Welcome to your new home You used to think it was cool to be Vader? Wait until you get into a TX armor!!! About the lenses ![]() You can see a lot better with flat lenses. Flat green lenses are mostly done out of welder mask, so, even if someone take a pic of your face with a flash he/she is not going to be able to see your eyes. (same with flat mirror lenses) About the E 11 , if you're lucky, you still can get one at your local Walmart/Target/KB toys or whatever. If not, you can go to EBAY. Anyway, even if you buy a hasbro, it will be good to go to EBAY and try to buy a modification kit so your blaster will me more "accurate" Good look!!! |
