Hola Ya'll.. TI/TC-6333, Greg, Florida Garrison, Omega Wing, Clonetrooper Det here. Looking forward to trying my hand at a different set soon.

One thing I'm working on, and I'll say up front, it's not canon, or if it is, I've never heard of it, is a Black/Spec ops TIE Pilot. Essentially adding black TK shin/forearm/shoulders/hand plates to a standard TIE Pilot kit along with paired sidearms.. (Probably mocified DL-44's) OR, alternatly, instead of TK forearms, using some type of Mando Gauntlet, and run the "Power" feeds to the TIE Pilot armor back armor.. Havent hashed that out yet.

Any thoughts? Or, Has anyone heard/seen/read of anything like this in the EU?? I'll do it anyway to wear as a non-canon costume for cons and such, but it'd be great to find something like this thats 501st acceptable to be able to troop sanctioned events in too...

Thankee.. One of these days I'll get happy with Photoshop and make a mock up of it with both options, Mandi gauntlets and TK Forearms. It probably wont look tremendously different, since it'll still be all black, but I Was planning on doing some additional silver detailing on the armor similer to the TI bucket, to add some contrast. and with the Mando pieces, maybe some braided aluminium hoses as the power conduits. Still toying with the idea, and it'll probably be a little while befire I can even get started on it since I'm still working on getting my Clone armor together. It'll be interesting though. Kinda fun to think up a NOn Standard TIE Pilot.. (But kids will probably still always call me Darth Vader in costume.. /LoL)

LOL. I get that in my TX (Stealthtrooper) all the time. I just shrug it off. ;)

Hmm...that is an interesting idea. I would love to see what you can come up with. My wife would probably like to see it too, as she is a TIE pilot as well.

I have not heard of it before in EU, but then again that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. :D

Sometimes the General Public just doesn't quite get it. I was called Darth Vader once. I was wearing my Royal Guard.

First time I knew that Vader wore red.

I know what you mean, as a tie pilot i have been called vader many times myself. As far as the custom, sounds good. Keep us posted on your progress. :D B)
