You can either buy a fan-made kit off of eBay for $550 or so, or SDSProps.com in the UK sells armor made by the original creator for like $1500. Once you join your local Garrison, your CO may be able to help you find a reasonable set. If you want to make it yourself from scratch, get lots of clay and reference pics. Sculpt in clay, bake, then vacuform over your clay bucks using .90 ABS or Styrene sheets. If you go this route, it'll cost you time, materials, and electricity. I've seen folks make their own sets for under $300. I've seen good tutorials on making vac bucks out of MDF with great success, but have to find the site links.
