From Wookieepedia: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Sith_trooper![]() ![]() ![]() Sith troopers were the foot soldiers of the Sith Empire during the Jedi Civil War. The Sith troopers of Revan's returning armada were traitorous Republic forces, who would later be joined by idealistic volunteers from conquered worlds. The weak would be siphoned out through the merciless Sith training schemes, resulting in an efficient and powerful fighting force. The fear present in each trooper not only spurred them on in battle, but also prevented them from turning traitor for a second time. Following the Jedi Civil War, many of the now-masterless Sith troopers came under the command of Darth Nihilus, participating in the Second battle of Onderon and the Battle of Telos IV. The standard armor of the Sith trooper was either reflective silver or white with a black face mask hiding the soldier's face. There appears to be no indication of rank on the uniform, though commandos wore a red variation of the armor while officers wore blue uniforms similar to the grey & black uniforms of the future Imperial officers. The armor, while bearing the same level of functionality as that belonging to the Republic forces of the same time period, was designed specifically to induce fear in the opponent. The armor casing was emphasised, while the trooper was completely obscured from view by a one-way visor, creating the impression of a faceless enemy. A similar effect would be recreated thousands of years later in the Republic clone troopers, who, through a fitting twist of fate, would later serve as the stormtroopers for another empire ruled by the Sith. |

I'd love to make this costume but I don't own the game it came from and the internet doesn't have any good reference pics so if anyone could get me screen caps of it that'd be great. Ideally I'd like pictures of the white version to see the details better but any pics would help. Thank you. |

Thanks for the pics crazas, those are going to help with the chest and back. If anyone wants to contribute more pics, the areas most needed are the chest armor and the entire back. crazas pics are good but I want as many as possible. Does anyone know what color the trooper farthest to the left in the first post? It looks white but it's almost too shiny. |

I'm definitely doing chrome then. Is there a spray paint that does chrome instead of plain silver available? As far as construction goes, I was planning on making the armor in a set up similar to the TK where the upper and lower torso pieces are separate. I can't tell if that's really the case from the pics but it would make the armor much easier to move in and it would still look accurate. Can a costume get approved without standards? |

Maybe for anyone deciding to build one, the visor can be made from the same acrylic plastic the bobamaker T-visor for the fetts. I have one for my jango helm, and you cannot see into it AT ALL. Flash of a camera only makes the visor blakcer.. -tubachris |

Alclad makes a great chrome, but methinks it needs to be imported from the UK. But the results are startling. Check out Alsa's Chrome in a can". It's not cheap at all ($115 for 1 can kit) http://www.alsacorp.com/products/killercan...hrome_price.htm The cans alone: http://alsacorp.com/products/killercans/killercans_price.htm Cheaper chrome: http://www.automotiveforums.com/t94003.html http://www.alclad2.com/alclad-home.html |

Any good hardware store or even Wal-mart has chrome spray paint for less than $20. They would not be the best but if you want cheap you might be able to find a passable one there. I would suggest getting several brands and trying them out on a similiar surface. |

Hello Im new to the Forum. My name is Chris Maher. my user name is Sci Sheetal and Im a costumer here in Virginia. My husband and I just got back from C4, had a great time. We were very impressed with the members of the 501st, and are thinking about joining them. I spoke with Thomas Spanos and he gave me this link. My husband and I are going to make Sith Troopers. I want to know if anyone has worked with sintra. How easy is it to work with and what thickness might be best. I live in an appartment so fiberglass is out of the question. Any help would be appreciated. I dont want to rush it so I already am working on Shaak Ti from episode two, so I understand about getting it screen accurate. Its a little harder with a character that doesnt technically exist in movies. Thomas said that there was only one person that he knows had done this and only wore it once. I cant imagine doing all that work and not wear it. Well any help you all can give would be appreciated Chris aka sci sheetal |

Well. I havent personally ever used sintra, but Ive seen other people use, it and its similar to plastics, if I remember correctly. It really depends what exactly you want to do with the sintra. Its been best used with fett armor, jetpacks, etc. As far as making it curved or flexibility properties, I cannot say. Im sure that applied heat can help with this. Goodluck, Ive never really seen a sith trooper before, so it should be interesting! -tubachris |
