Keep in mind, on the 501st forums, we should advertise this, as there is a coin collectors club that automatically wants to purchase at least one (or more) coins. This could help us dramatically in the pricing. |

Alright, sounds great! I won't have a chance to do a larger version of the artwork tonight, however, I should be able to put it up sometime tomorrow afternoon/evening. I've already got larger versions of the symbols, and I can just blow up the circles from MEPD's coin design to use for placement (or even just blow up this one, and put the higher resolution versions over top of it). Any exact size you need? |

Bigger the better, so the detail comes out right on the final coin. Kev |

Don't you think we should wait for more options and more people to participate before we start going through all this stuff? |

Thats what I'm thinking. After there are a few options brought to the table, one of the officers can run a poll on which the membership likes best. |

My reply to that is this contest has been open for almost a year (Oct '06) and nobody has stepped up to the task until now. If anyone has ideas, now's the time to get 'em in or don't complain when we do put it to a final member vote. Sorry to be blunt, but honestly it has been quite a few months with no activity at all. Now we do have a potential design and if you have problems with it, come up with a constructive solution to make it better. It makes sense to me to have the Legion logo on one side and our shield on the other. That would mesh with the existing coins out there. But that's my opinion and I'm not an artist. Come up with a competing design and we'll see which one wins. |

I was not aware that this has been up in the air since October of '06. I assumed this was just now going on for about a week or two at the most. Then again I don't even have my TX completed, I just like to get involved with the detachments I associate with it. Sorry if I sounded hostile or openly against the coin. I was just brainstorming. |

No prob, Ross. Don't mind me - sometimes I can be a bit on the cranky side but I mean well. I'd really appreciate any help or ideas that you'd like to bring to the table. There's no such thing as a bad idea and I'd like the members to see and debate them all so we get the best darned coin in the Legion. I'd love to hear what people want to see and see if we can't make it happen. |

I kinda like the idea of the Legion logo on one side, but a part of me thinks that is kind of plain. I'd love to have a challenge coin that really just pops out to the eye, but sadly I have no skill with graphics or anything artistic to help contribute more than just verbal ideas. I really love the shield and aurebesh on one side though. |

Perhaps an Iwo Jima type portrait of the major TXs, or something like the Republic Commando maquette with them posed. Let's see what we can come up with. it'd be nice if there was a space for folks to get their TX numbers engraved. |

I like the Iwo Jima thing. A bunch of the guys from my garrison(Alabama Garrison) did a photo of that a while back. ![]() But it would look very very sweet with a a mix of the various TXs. Oh, and thats not a confederate flag, its our state flag... |

Great idea, but remember how difficult it is to put together the TX. Just 6 of us in the C IV picture!!

But if you get somebody to draw it, you can add unlimited troopers. |

If I can get photos of single people posed, I can get it done (kinda like Dave Dorman does his art). Lemme plan this out before you start posting pics.

So, should I even bother trying to make up my version of the coin, or can we assume we're not going to consider it? |
