Ok here's the deal
I live in Costa Rica, I'm a member of the SW fan club here, but we havo no 501st!!!
So I'm trying to make an outpost. Can somebody point me in the rigth direction?
Here's what I have already done
Fill the form from the 501st site (now who should I send it to??)
E mailed twice LMO Thomas Spanos (but got no answer)
Even made a litle webpage (well, start to make a little one!!)
I'm not an 501 st member yet and there is a very simple reason for it, there is no Garrison here so I can not send my pictures to anyone!!

What should I do to become a member?

Every help will be GREATLY appreciated.

I need to look up the requirements from the charter and work is getting in the way. Please be patient and give me a chance to help you the right way rather than a best guess. It took about 2 years to get this Det off the ground and I'd like you to benefit from my pains in getting it done. ;)

Bear with me brother - I'm not ignoring you - I'm just very busy with work and putting together the latest issue of the 501st Static Burst Newsletter...

Sorry
I really don't want to be a headache.
I'll be patient (even is patience is for Jedis, not for Imperial troopers! LOL)

Many thanx

another option crazas is to write directly to edward karl LXO or Rome from captain of guard for 501st legion and they will be happy to get u on the way...we got our singapore outpost thru this way since the same when we approach thomas there was no reply... we decided to escalate and got our outpost up and running.

I am in many ways similar to u that we have a sw fan club in singapore initally and we form an outpost with only 2 members initally till today that are 20 strong..

trust me once u get the outpost started and with ur internal publicity, u can gain membership in no time and introducing them to world of sw costuming and bring the interest of hobby to next new level

will be happy to assist u if needed

thks

Crazas,

I have found one of the best ways to get people interested in costuming is to see, and talk with you while in armor. Going to local conventions, or even outdoor events in armor. Getting out there for people to see you having fun (while respectful of local authorities and regulations of course) says a lot, and gets people interested.

craz here is from the legion charter on outposts.

D. Outposts
For areas that lie outside 501st Legion control and do not have enough members to form a Garrison, an Outpost may be formed. An Outpost requires only one member and is headed by an Outpost Leader (OL), who is elected every February by the members of the Outpost. Applicants must complete an Outpost Application Form in which they list their new Outpost name, roster of members from the main 501st roster, territorial boundaries, and Outpost logo. Application for an Outpost must be submitted to the Legion Council and voted on by at least one-third of the Legion Council members in a simple-majority vote. If approved by the Legion Council vote, the Outpost immediately becomes official. Once an Outpost contains twenty-five members it may apply to be a recognized Garrison as outlined above and may waive the one-year trial period at the discretion of the Legion Council. Member affiliation with this unit is mandatory based upon geographical boundaries and the member's primary residence.

You only need 1 member i would email Rome that is captain of the guard be patient thou we are getting ready to go though elections so it's going to be alittle nuts.
