...and of course it looks like I'll have to cut my boots as well, in order to narrow the ankle area. As it is right now, the circumference of the ankle area is wide enough to create problems fitting the shin armor around it. |

I got my boots on eBay from a seller named: bootsnshoesnstuff Here's the link to my ended auction. Hopefully it'll still be up so everyone can see the pics and search the seller's store. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=140106590812 |

Cujo...... I can relate to the monitary problems. I work with leather all the time so if ya cannot get the black boots and are afraid that the sketchers may not work, you can get a cheap leather dye in black to color to redye your other boots. Just remember that you will need to apply the dye 3 - 4 times to get it dark enough then apply a wax polish to make them shiney... |

I ended up buying the sketchers, and no one so far has complained atthe lack of super shine, so I should be good. |

Hello, If possible, would it be better to get a boot that is as glossy as possible? I currently have two choices and am trying to weigh looks (i.e. glossy) against function (i.e. non slip sole, reinforced toe, not so glossy). I have been looking at the pictures online as well as some galleries and it seems that the glossier is the prime choice. |

Hmmm... tough call. You want to match the armor as much as possoble but at the same time you want your feet to live to see another troop. My suggestion, functionality (as well as the proper style) and shoe polish.

Glossy is better but, Nolak is 100 % rigth, when you have a multiay event, you'll want to go every single day and if your feets are killing you maybe you're nopt going to be able to o it. |

Yes they would. You would just have to make them shiny like the armor. |

You can do CA but you have to do custom set which costs $100. If you can muster more people to order with you the price may come down. It DEFINATELY doesnt hurt to ask.

There could be other alternatives. If you have a shoe retailer that deals with "Chinook" brand shoes and boots, there is a shoe line that Chinook puts out that I think may work. They are the Chinook brand shoe, the product line is called Romeo II. I had to get me a pair of new "shineable" black shoes for my new job and they retailed for around $35. If you have a Fred Meyer retail store in your area, that is where they can be found. Check them out and see... |

Instead of starting another topic about boots, would the following be acceptable after a good shine? http://www.costumeshoes.com/shoes/Mens/Boo...281,212_216_278 I have a limited budget atm since I just bought two Stealth trooper kits :ph43r: Thanks all TXEastbay |

Shouldn't be a problem IF you can get the good shine out of them. I would make sure before you pay for them. Find out what they are made of so the material just doesn't suck up all the polish. |

Remember though that the CRL you're submitting specifies a U shape panel, so while these may work for now eventually they probably wouldn't. The boots used for the TK costume where simple Jodhpur boots that you can find most places for $35-$80 or so, even on Ebay (I got mine at www.barnstormers.co.uk) and they are available in black by default. TK's have to get them dyed or painted white, but TX should just be able to give them a good shine. For true gloss like patent leather...I haven't seen any to date I'm afraid. |
