Hey, Im new to this site, but not new to the prop making scene. I havent yet known if anyone else was in the process of making DT armor. I am currently buiilding a battlefront Darktrooper. I am using an FX helmet and I already finished making the helmet modification buck to be vacu-formed. I also began the guants, hand and the biceps as well. Also started the Jetpack too. I have my progress on thedentedhelmet.com, fl501st.com as well as tk560.com. The TDH is usually where i'll post progress up first though. Here is the link to the TDH thread http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16951 -tubachris |

Well, Im just assuming that no one so far has done a Darktrooper, but I saw the other thread, I dont know if hes still working on it, or not. I know someone else who is doing a Phase 3 soon, and I am planning on doing a phase 3 after this projects is over as well. lol, he said hes started the helmet, so I think I may get a copy of it from him when Im ready, cause I cant sculpt a helmet for my life. -tubachris |

Nice progress pics there. It's nice to see someone is working on this trooper. The FX bucket is actually not a bad helmet to use for a Dark Trooper. If you modded the chin and grin, you would have something even closer to the game model. I whipped this up in photoshop just to get an idea what it might look like. ![]() ![]() Looks like there might be hope for all those FX helmets out there. |

Not the first time I heard that about the FX's after I started. About the helmet, Im not going to mod the face plate just yet, I only have one and im really sure I'd screw it up the first time. Maybe in the future I will attemplt at sculpting a face plate, but just not for now. -tubachris |

Here's another update.. Ive spent tonight working on the jetpack because since I started the vacu-form bucks, ive almost totally fogotten about it. The biggest issue I was having was trying to get myself to finish these vents. I have finished 3 of the 6, having to build walls so that it sits at an angle. Those 3 are done and ready to be attached to the other parts. However, I cannot attach anythin until everything on the main body is painted. I wont post many pics of the progress, until near completion. Thats it so far. -tubachris (Who just ran 2 miles and is starving) |

Alright, well just to hold you guys up till the nxxt major progress, heres where its at right now. I had to cover that nasty looking line where I glued the halves together, so i added panels to cover it up, and did the same to the other side to make them even in height. I then added some durham's to cover the gaps between pieces. After its done drying sometime soon, I'll go ahead and sand it down, then attach the surface details, once again, put on some durham's for the seems, and then I can paint the base grey. I will have to say, the painter's touch paint is really durable, it hasnt scratched or flaked or anything, and I have put some of it through heck, and nothings happend yet.![]() ![]() Dont laugh at my work bench, despite the fact its only two saw horses and an old cut up shet of MDF.... -tubachris |

At least you guys have a work bench. My project is creeping along ever so slowly just due to the fact that I dont have the room anymore now that I live in a townhome. |

Well, good thing I got batteries early enough. Here are the vents that took forever. Its hard to see, but there are walls that surround the piece so that once its attached to the main body, it will angle inwards as you can see. I also finished one of the side of the boxes witht the circular greebly thing on it. Its smaller then I waned it to be, but I could not find any other object that match it's shape as well as this one.![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -tubachris |
