I've gotten a couple troopers asking me about my side plates in color black. I can do black no problem, they will be just like the white verison only black. Same deal.

Posting here to ask how many Stealth troopers would be interested so I know how much plastic to order?

See thread on the white stuff here,

Considering I'm not in the 501st just yet and I'm unfamiliar with this problem - is the filler more of a cosmetic thing?

i imagine that being in an all-black suit makes the gap less noticeable, but I was just wondering if it's something most of the guys in the 501st look to fix.

I don't rightly know :) I was just asked about them. The gap is only a problem is your too fat like me to wear trooper armor and not have the ab and butt plates fit flush. You might think with the black under suite most would not care about the gap but I suspect there must be a few stealth troopers who are just perfectionists ;) At any rate they always improve the apperance of the armor no matter what color as the gap can be seen even in black TK armor. Plus no kids can poke you in the side.

My armor came with two extra rectangular pieces (same size as the belt) that could be used for fillers in the armor either for the torso or for the legs or arms. Did you get any extra material in your kit?

Yes. For shimming and such.

I did not on my tk. I got extra pastic on my clone I used to fill the gap in my ANH armor. My plates while simple enough are not a simple square. They interface with the butt plate. Anyone can fill their own gap but from the sales I have it seems they like to buy something ready made. One guy just worked too much to want to mess with it.

This is an interest thread, I really don't care either way if anyone wants them or not. I will be making two sets at least and I know that as soon as I order the plastic and the buss is full someome always writes asking about more plates.

TK2668,

Being as I am about to order my armor (tomorrow I hope), I would be very interested in any mods that the brothers of the whits have come up with. So you can count me in. Thanx

It seems now that i got a sample that the red plates would be made in the more user friendly and thinner gage plastic. The Black ones would be the thicker stuff.

Keven your email bounces so send me a PM about getting the samples to you so we can check color match on this project.

Anybody ever get a price? Has anybody seen these? Are they a Hi-gloss Acrylic capped black ABS or just a regular ABS gloss black?
