Just checking the Wookieepedia tonight and noticed a lot more costumes we could be working on as a Detachment. Please note that most of these are not approved, but they could be in the near future should folks start working on them.

Alien Stormtrooper

Blackguards

Force-Sensitive Stormtrooper

Heavy Stormtrooper
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Heavy_stormtrooper

Imperial heavy weapons specialist

I'll let you guys decide if they should be included as part of the Detachment.

The one on the right looks basically like the Heavy Weapons Trooper that is in constant debate upon here in the 501st. LOL!!

I thought this breakdown was pretty good for reference:

I was going to say that the Blackguard basically looks just like the darktroopers...

I think we should start sifting through those.

Which ones have the three of more sources required to be an official costume?

From there we can start decideing which ones will grow into potential acceptable costume(s), and then we could work on finding photographs and info about the costume(s).

I bet people will definately start looking at the "Heavy Stormtrooper" once the Force Unleashed game comes out as well as the Hasbro figure.

Those were my thoughts exactly. Especially since Wookieepedia isn't a real credible source given that anybody can make their own information and pages.

Very true. Plus you have to always keep in mind that everything is pretty much subject to artist interpretation and expression. Hence the three points of reference. ;)

Btw, LOVE the avatar, Goose. :)

I really like the way the heavy stormtrooper looks, even if it was'nt going to be in the new unleashed game, It's got my vote for the most likely to become a new 501st approved trooper. It's very reminiscent of mcquarrie's concept stormtooper, which makes it that much cooler in my book.

I think that "Blackguard" designation being reserved for the super-tall troopers are totally fine.. lol.

Maybe some of you guys have already seen or heard about the new Shadow guard apparently making it's debut appearance in the upcoming Unleashed video game. I'm almost certain this will need it's own category here pretty soon.

I'd post a pic, but there's seems to be an issue with posting images now.

You're probably right that they belong here since Shadow Stormtroopers are essentially black TK's ... and by that logic, it makes total sense for them to be affiliated with Spec Ops.

here's another question - does EU "named" chars like Carnor Jax belong in Spec Ops as well? Or is he more of a sith lord? Royal guard?

Carnor Jax and Kir Kanos are already part of the Forcepike/Sovereign Protectors detachment, by virtue of the backstory--the fact that they were both Royal Guards see Crimson Empire 1 and 2.

The Shadow Guard from Force Unleased is going to go to Sovereign Protectors as well, as they are intended to be a variant of the Royal Guard.

That makes sense. I just automatically assumed that being an EU character, and particularly a "shadow" variation that it would be a part of this detachment. I went ahead and signed up over on those boards, because I will more than likely be putting together a shadow guard costume in the not so distant future.

Me too, I've got a spare helmet set aside for the paint job, and already have the fabrics etc. I'm just waiting for the go ahead that it will actually be a Legion approved costume.
