This poll will be open for 7 days and be submitted to the LMO for approval/inclusion into the Legion CRL Stealth Trooper/Lumiya's Trooper/Black Hole Trooper/Shadow Stormtrooper CRL Standard A Stealth Trooper MUST have the following: - Black, glossy professional-quality Stormtrooper armor (made of solid or painted ABS, HIPS, Styrene, or Fiberglass). If converted from a white TK, no white may ever show on the armor. - Silver, battleship grey (exact match of helmet stickers), or black helmet frown. Cheek tube stripes may only be black or very dark navy blue. Crown indents may be battleship grey or black. Earcap vertical stripes may be black, grey, or dark navy blue - Opaque flat or bubbled helmet lenses, colored either black, smoke, silver, or dark green. A spectator must not be able to see your eyes through the helmet when worn. - Matte black TK-style neckseal - Plain Black Gloves (preferrably leather, but may be rubber or Jersey-style cloth). No ornamental/decorative stitching is permitted - Solid black or dark navy blue undersuit, either one-piece or two piece. Non-textured, non-shiny material, but wide vertical ribbing is permitted. Commonly used items include dive suits, “UnderArmor” or “Starter” warm-up suits, or dance unitards - Black "Chelsea-style" ankle high, laceless, non-ornamentally stitched boots. Boots may be leather or vinyl preferrably with small U-shaped elastic sections on either side of the ankle and up to a 1” heel. They must closely match the TK standard, but be glossy black vs. white - Blaster. May be an E-11 or BFG. MG34 (DLT19), Lewis Gun (T21), or MG15 (unnamed in SW galaxy). These weapons may be a modified toy blaster (i.e. Hasbro), scratch-built, resin cast, hyperfirm rubber cast, vaccum-formed, MR, or real demilitarized guns. Blaster may (preferrably) be weathered and must never be able to fire any projectile - E11 holster worn only when an E11 is carried. When a BFG is carried, TD-style ammo pouches are highly recommended. No thermal detonator or belt dropboxes are worn when BFG and ammo pouch is equipped (per TD specs) - Four “teeth” cut out and backed with black screen on either side of helmet “frown” - Thermal Detonator OPTIONAL Stealth Trooper Modifications (Accepted, but not at all required) - Rank Pauldron (Black, Grey, Orange, or White) Made from vinyl or leather. Blue or red is NOT an acceptable color. - Black leather, Vinyl, or Canvas Ammunition Pouches (MP40, MP38, or similarly styled) Worn on the left shoulder, and also on the belt. Ammo pouches may only be worn when a BFG is carried. - Black Macrobinoculars. Styled after those used in the Special Edition, but matte black in color. - Black ANH Stormtrooper-style ComLink - Hinged cod/lower back pieces for mobility. - Helmet fans and helmet cutouts for ventilation. Any cutouts must be backed with black screen so a spectator cannot see your face inside the helmet. - Voice amplifier and/or voice effect board w/Static Burst. - Black Hovi-Mix cast “tusks” - Resin E11 modification kit is recommended for the Hasbro E11, to include Hengstler counter, cylinders, and spiral black wiring from counter to cylinders. - LEDs/sound effects (for firing effect) are permitted in blasters. LEDs are NOT permitted on the costume itself. - Black matte canvas or leather belt as an alternative to the plastic belt is permitted per FISD Elite standards. - Armor may be slightly weathered, showing silver, grey, or black scratches. But armor must remain glossy (never matte black, ever) - 5 ANH-style "teeth" holes on each side of the frown on the helmet. Holes must be backed with black screen so nobody can see through them. Hmm, I still think the alternate name of Shadow Stormtrooper should also be in there. Otherwise looks perfect.

I agree 100% but I'm sure Thomas is going to disagree with pauldrons. I have already talked about this subject with him and he ask me for graphic references, I found none. (BTW I Love my pauldron) |

He originally disagreed with me on pauldrons on clean TKs as well until I showed several visual references for them, hence the name Heavy Weapons Troopers, which we have here in the TX Det as the FISD and MEPD didn't want them. I'll produce the visual aids when I get home from work. Kev |

I have a couple of questions. Or maybe Im just reading too much into this stuff
. In requirements for the bucket it reads:"- Silver, battleship grey (exact match of helmet stickers), or black helmet frown. Cheek tube stripes may only be black or very dark navy blue. Crown indents may be battleship grey or black. Earcap vertical stripes may be black, grey, or dark navy blue" What if you didnt go with any of the helmet details? Ive seen some all black helmets here so I know there out there. From the requirements it seems you would be locked into having the tube stripes no matter what combo of frown/earcap you had. Is black referring to the gloss black of the ABS or flat black, semi-flat black? Are the crown indents and cheek tears following the standard TK decals black border/vertical black lines? The only other thing I was wondering about was the "thermal detenator". Tube stripes or no tube stripes and for the body glossy ABS, flat black, semi flat black? I dont know if that was ever decided. I know there are preferences but what is the standard? I like the list dont get me wrong I dont want anybody to think Im slamming anyone or thier work. The last thing I want to do is get anybodys feathers ruffled. That and being a fairly new guy these are things I would ask. I know the helmet has been a source of problems in the past for 501st membership with custom colors and such. I just didnt want anybody getting denied because of some stickers or the wrong color of paint. Its just not that clear to me is all. But then again I can be slow at times. Thanks for your time and please dont beat me up to badly |

Black is black, as far as the helmet indents are concerned. All helmets "should" have cheek tube stripes (only a few cannon TKs and TDs didn't have them), but it's widely accepted that these were a mistake and that they are there for a purpose. As far as the lines around the crown indents/cheek indents, if they're black or dark navy blue, no need for 'em, IMHO. They are there to stand out the contrast. But if you have grey indents, they should be present, just like TKs & TDs. The thermal detonator (if worn, but not of carrying a BFG), may be all black, black with grey stripes, or black with silver stripes. The black should be glossy, just like the armor. Matte black is not currently approved as an armor color. Hope that helps. If folks agree, we'll add it to the standard. Kev |

Hi all, yes, I can see that black tube strips and black crown indents are in the draft CRL spec for a Stealth Trooper. But can anyone point me at 3 approved LFL visual references which would confirm that black is canon? Three URLs would do very nicely indeed. I need these in order to have my Stealth Trooper lid to be cleared by the UK Garrison's GML. Hope someone can help. |

It's pretty bad when a GML won't accept a DL's CRL, which we're formally submitting to the LMO. Pics are below... Here's 3 you can use in the meantime, all licenced by LFL: http://z11.invisionfree.com/501st_Spec_Ops...p?showtopic=478 Master Replicas Mini Helmet (licensed): http://stores.channeladvisor.com/redfordfi...x?itemid=101669 Master Replicas Large Helmet (licensed): From Jez's site in the UK http://web.ukonline.co.uk/bingo275/MR_Shadowtrooper.htm Kev |
