After getting screen shots from Empire, finding a few pics online, and looking at what others have done, I think I am ready to make my own. The plan is to make the most screen accurate gun possible. The trick is to keep cost down and make it as portable as possible too. Yeah, fun. To keep the cost down I plan to us PVC piping and storage containers for the boxes on the cannon itself. (As of this post anyway )Here are the pics I have been using to find the details of the gun and to find the mesurements. I first started with this pic from Empire. I guessed at the height of the troopers and then used that to figure out a decent height for the tripod and gun. ![]() And then took this pic and broke everything down. ( thanks again crazas! )![]() I then took my tripod for my video camera and tested the height with the pvc pipe I plan to use for the cannon. ![]() The hardest part of this will be the tripod. I want to recreate each round dome and funnel where the legs connect to the base. The only issue I forsee is this not able to support the weight of the cannon. We shall see! Here is the first leg test. ![]() And then a mockup of the what the shapes my look like after. ![]() This could be a very easy project overall, but the tripod is the biggest concren. I hope to have this finished to go with my Snowtrooper costume once it's done. This could make for some awesome pictures! I'll keep updating on my progress! I hope down the road to have a website with all the info on it for everyone to use! |
