I finally finished my Stealth Trooper Armor and acquired all needed accessories. The fitment and the webbing comes into play now that I am wearing the suit. The biggest trouble I am having is the shin and calve armor is tending to want to ride up towards my knee. Also since the armor narrows at the ankle my boots are forceing the velcro open torwards the bottom. Im sure I'm not the first to have this problem but have found no useful help on various websites. If you have any pics of webbing, a certain way to cut the armor, or any ideas it would be greatly apprechiated. |

Does it fit well around your legs or is it a little tight? The biggest prob I had was the velcro popping loose and the armor spinning around. I remedied it by installing some cushy foam in the upper shin area and industrial velcro strips on the calves. Here's my two cents..... The foam conforms to my shin bones and keeps the armor from wandering side to side, it also keeps that knee plate out a little too. I installed it with just a bit of hot glue. The industrial velcro is the type you buy in 15 foot rolls at Home Depot. Get some GooGone or other citrus based cleaner to remove the adhesive off your armor. Clean with soap and water, then sand (Carefully) where your velcro will be installed. It helps to face the "Hook" velcro away from your undersuit. Cut about a 1/2" or 3/4" strip of the velcro to put on the full length of your calves. Put it in place and try not to pull it up or re-apply it (this knocks out the adhesion). Allow it to sit undisturbed for a couple days. You can add a larger piece of the "Loop" velcro inside your armor and this gives you more for the hook to grab. It's a good way to cheat for an extra centimeter or two if that's all you need for the stuff to fit. You'll be cleaning your scizzors with the GooGone too...... Also you can add foam to the back of the thigh pieces to pull them in tighter and keep the knee plate from spanking against them. If you haven't already you may want to make a garter support system for the thigh armor too. Saved my back!!! And that's two cents worth for ya!

Other possible solutions: 1. I've seen one person who put velcro on their boot and on their shin. I tried it w/o success but they claim it worked. 2. Every maker's shins are slightly different contoured. My FX are fine, but I had this problem with my TE2. I ended up swapping them out for RT and the problem went away. 3. You can also try a heat gun to reshape the back a bit. I've never tried this, but it may help. |

On mine I just made a strap that ran from somewhere around the top of the shin piece down and around the bottom of my foot. Kind of like a stirrup. I put the shin piece and my boots on and then determined how ling I wanted the strap to be. If you ned, I can take a couple of pictures and post. Bill |
