Just wondering if anyone out there has or is using the Master Replicas TX (Shadow Trooper) helmet for trooping in.
I just got my helm today, and its awesome looking. Its not as big as the FX, but it looks like it can fit a good sized head.
I put it on, and the room in there is very very tight. Just wondering if anyone is just grinning and bearing it or what did you do to make more room in the helm.
I am planning on ripping the padded liner out carefully, and padding places only where necessary.
I still dont know how im going to do fans, or voice......LOL !
Any advice, help, or pictures would definately help.....

THANKS !!!!!

Eric

yikes! as beautiful as that helmet is, I would never troop in it.

one reason being the weight of fiberglass and the fact that damaging such a limited edition piece is almost too much to handle .. lol

if you're doing mods to the helmet I highly suggest using FX (it has the most room for fans / speakers, etc)

if you're a stickler for "accurate" proportions and looks, there are armorsmiths that can pull a 2 piece ABS helmet .. very similar to the likes of TE2 or RTmod.. and they can be done in black plastic

remember, if you've never trooped before, comfort is key to enjoying yourself!

I'd agree. Get a cheap MR CE helm and repaint it or use the FX helm that comes with your kit for trooping. You want to be comfortable and I'd hate to see a limited edition get banged up trooping in it.

Plus the LE MR TX Helmet with its leather pading will be way too hot to troop.

I agree with all that is said. However, I got this stealthtrooper helmet from a garage sale for 100 bucks. It is new in box, never been worn. So I am deciding to rip the padding out, and put in fans and voice.

I still wanna hear from anyone who is using the MR #'d to 500 helmet for trooping in.....ANYONE OUT THERE? (crazy like me?)

LOL !

$100?

GREAT deal! You made out like bandit. What # did you get?

I don't think that i'm even going to troop in my Black MR helmet and it'll probably stay on display on my shelf at work with a few other MR helmets that I own. The "Stealth" helmet seems to attract the most attention from visitors in my office and I actually believe that some fellow employees sneak in when I'm not there to check it out. ( I sometimes see fingerprints on it!)

Good luck trooping in that one!

Or...I could troop in it and not look like a "bobble head"...LMAO !

In all seriousness, the story was that the parents of a guy who owned this helmet was selling off all of his possesions because the guy passed away. I didnt know till a few hours after I bought it. My neighbor told me this.... :(

Its numbered 298

So...any TX'x wearing Master Replicas TX helm?

Wow, that's an unbelievable score for that helmet. Seriously though, as much as I toyed with the idea of using this with my armor, I just have'nt been able to bring myself to do it,... yet. As nice of a helmet as this is, I really just can't deal with the inaccuracies of it to really want to wear it. I'm too used to seeing and wearing my more screen accurate helmets to feel that compelled to wear such a nice collectible. If I'd only spent 100 bucks, sure, then I'd be all the more tempted to gut it, or at least troop with it. The main issue that I can see with wearing this would be matching the paint finish with your armor. I'm curious to see how well it matches up with existing armor.

I noticed too, that the lenses appear to be removable, which has made me consider just taking out the lenses and putting them into another helmet, but I have'nt been able to bring myself to try and remove them yet either.

Feel free to post some images of you wearing your helmet with some armor when you get a chance.

Ok......I am 3/4 way complete with my armor. Just doing snaps, and also doing some webbing. As soon as I am done, I will post a few pics of the completed product....
I just looked at the armor, and the helmet, and they seem to (color) match up just fine......
Thanks for the reply...........

I'm patiently (yeah right) waiting for my MR TX helmet to arrive, and fully intend to wear it! Glad to hear I'm not the only one. I can't freakin believe you got one for 100 bucks. Unbelievable luck. Well done.

They look awesome, and so far, in my opinion, they are the best alternative to the FX style lid, which I don't personally like at all. I've gotten my hands on several other TX helmet options, including a ANH stunt style thing, which was too small, and a custom fibreglass one that I am still playing around with. With a pair of Capt Midnight's awesome mirror lenses, it should be pretty good, but the MR TX was just too tempting.

The symetrical MR look doesn't bother me, since I think of the TXs as being (obviously) superior and segregated from the more common TKs. So their gear could be different in lots of subtle ways apart from the colour. When you only have comics to work with, you have to make up your own mind about this kind of thing I guess.

And the MR TX seems to have a classier, fiercer look than the MR TKs, which don't seem to be nearly as good as a number of the other TK options out there, but I haven't seen an MR TK in person so I wouldn't know.

Post some pics when you finish off your gear with the MR! I will do the same. I'm a bit new to this TX stuff, been monkeying around with my armour for ages trying to get it to look as good as the other guys on this board.

I hear you on that ! Im just trying to get my armor and gear as perfect as can be. I just had an addition to my family on 26th of April ( a baby boy ) so I may be a little slower getting things up and running. Please post pics when you are done if you beat me.
Ive seen the bobble head look with the FX helmet, and just cannot see myself looking like one...especially since I am of tall and slender build.
Good luck with everything?
Anyone else with and MR TX helm? (trooping in it?)
