Main cutting tool to use is going to be a dremel. Utility knives can be used to cut a deep groove into the plastic that can then be snapped apart (for some of the pieces). If you had'nt discovered it yet, the stormtrooper detachment ( whitearmor.net ) is an excellent resource for all your assembly inquiries. Everything you need to know to get started can be found on those message boards. Congratulations on your armor acquisition and good luck with your first time build. Keep in mind that these things can easily take months to complete. Take your time and make sure you measure and triple check before making any cuts or adjustments. Sometimes a second pair of hands is in order too, so keep in mind you might need to ask one of your buddies to help you. Welcome to the boards Luis! |

Congrats! I use a dremel with a diamond tipped cutting wheel, then use a bench grinder to finish the edges. Then sand them smooth. Use industrial velcro (not the crappy stuff that usually comes with the kits). Plastic Weld (found at Wal-Mart in the hardware/painting section) will be your friend. Get a set of cheap suspenders at Home Depot to hold up your crotch piece/butt plate (slot the tops so they attach). Invest in a hot glue gun and high temp glue sticks (for building the helmet and can be used in lieu of snaps for strapping). I still have to post pics of my build. |

Here's a good site: http://www.jedi-academy.com/stormtrooper_tips.html Whitearmor.net also has some good sections but i need to find them. Your best bet is to hook up with troopers in your local area and get an armor party together. I still really need to get my pics up on the board so you can see how I have my suit assembled. I'll try this weekend. |

Looking good so far. Just remember to submit your membership pics without the Pauldron (not Legion approved, but may be worn after). |
