Ok, so I found a vendor that sells a mirrored motorcycle face shield for a VERY reasonable price. I order the shield on Friday, July 10.

The website states this item is "in stock with immediate delivery". Shipping time to Illinois, according to the website, is 2-3 days from Florida.

Well, here it is July 23 and STILL no shield. I called their business phone, no - go (voice mail box is full). I email them a couple times, no response.

So, I'm thinking I've gotten the shaft on this order. I certainly don't mind waiting, but really would like some communication from the vendor. ^o)

Here's the website:

Buyer beware!

Emphatic posted this in the wrong thread

Seems like they run slow, but I don't think we've been hosed.

Thanks guys for the info..

I called my bank and dispted the charge. I explained the situation to them. They ended up crediting the $$ back to my account.

I ordered another set of mirrored lenses from Motorcycle Superstore. They sound MUCH more reliable! ;)

No communication is bad - they should at least answer your queries. As a custom lens maker myself, I know I'm not the fastest on the planet and I have also fallen behind on orders (I hand cut, grind, and form), but I've never failed to ship or refund money whenever asked. Granted, some overseas orders get lost or held up in customs for some reason, but if they are reputable, they will make it right.

I hope it all comes out ok for you.

I just got notification today that this has shipped. After 3 weeks and no communication. All last week I sent them emails telling them that I didn't hear anything by friday I was cancelling. I didn't, so I was all prepared to call my bank today, but when I logged on I had the email from them.

No sorry, no explantion or anything. Just the shipping info.

I'm happy it's on it's way though. Now I can have some decent lenses.

Got it today. It doesn't look that bad at all. It has a nice silver look to it. Now you can see easily through the other side. It's kinda like having sunglasses on. So after they're in how noticable my eyes will be with and with out a camera flash. I don't know. Hopefully the darkness of the helmet will help. We'll see. After I get them cut and installed, I'll let you guys know. The plastic itself isn't as thick as the other lenses I've ordered. It's very easy to cut with some scissors. (I'm using the J.A. Henckles scissors that came with my wife's cutlery set, shhhhhh). It not being as thick, I'm hoping it will be easier to bend to fit the eye holes, and/or heat and shape.

Here's some pics.

A little leg shot there in the reflection. Control yourselves.

the visor rotates on that plastic helmet attachment.

Noticed here that you can see through and see my hand because of the flash. Hoping that be an issue after installed.

Ok, So I got one cut out. It's not as easy as I thought. It's kinda like cutting the ABS plastic, but just a hair thicker than the .90

Anyway, I got one cut out. Cut it a little big just in case. Glued it in.

Looked freakin awesome!!

Glued didn't hold at certain edges so I need to figure a way to bend them a little.

For someone with experience. They could get at least 3 pairs from that visor. So if you're willing to give that site awhile to get it shipped to you. I'd say it's worth it.

I'll post more when I gain some more ground on this.

I can't get them bent. I boiled the heck out of a spare piece and nothing. *sigh

I ordered a pair of flat smoke lenses awhile back and when I got them they were bent to fit perfectly. Why can't anyone who sells mirrored lenses do the same thing?
