Hi Shadow Troopers!

After receiving the brand new CAP-W helmet kit, here is a thread to let you follow my work in progress on this.

Here is the helmet at first sight : I have sanded a little bit some parts of it with wetsandpaper 600.

After 3 under-coats for plastic, I have applied 3 coats of bright black colors (wet sanding was also needed to get an even surface) :

Afterwards, the teeths were painted by hand with silver metal paint :

At last, 3 waves of bright clear coats were applied :

All that work took me one day... You have to wait a long time between each steps in order to let it dry.

Next steps :
- Put something behind the teeths
- Get the miror shield installed
- Put a helmet liner inside
- Put Hovi-Mic
- Install a mini fan

Thanks.

Do you have any advice for the mirrored lenses? Scott has provided a very good mirror shield (16'' x 4''):
- Should I cut what I need (1) or put the shield as is (2)?

=> (1) I may use hot glue.
=> (2) how do I proceed to make it holding inside?

Did you try wet sanding to a shine as opposed to paint?

Ok dudes,

Here is an update from the WIP :

2 things left to perform :
- Glue the neck trim.
- Install an Imperial Fan kit inside because it is too hot in this little bucket.

Are the pics just making those tube stripes look lighter or they actually a light blue?

Well, those are the tube stripes sold by TK4510. They are not dark navy blue if it is your question. I like the color, otherwise I would have put black tube stripes. ;)

Heh... Just going to slip them by, huh?
I'm trying to get navy on one of my helmet builds. I decided I don't have a steady enough hand to paint them.

Love the tips for the lenses.

I am looking forward to changing mine to mirror lenses.

Thanks.
