This thread is for posting verified pictures from the Shadow Scout as seen in the series X WING Rogue Leader Every other illustrative picture is welcomed From SW Databank: From the Expanded Universe The dreaded storm commando was the Empire's answer to the increasing victories won by Rebel Alliance guerilla tactics. Rebel successes early in the Galactic Civil War forced the Imperial military to re-examine some of their methodology. While overwhelming numbers and brute force sufficed in many applications, the Empire identified a need for a leaner, more focused fighting force. Crix Madine, an Imperial Army officer, developed the storm commandos to that end. Though Madine would eventually defect to the Alliance, the storm commando training program continued after his departure. Only the best of the stormtroopers received this intensive training, and storm commandos remained a rare sight by the end of the war. Nonetheless, Rebel SpecForces grew to respect their skills and abilities. While standard stormtrooper operations are broad in scope, storm commandos are specifically trained for anti-Rebel operations, siege-breaking, extractions and sabotage. A unit of storm commandos can range from four to 40 troopers. Typically, one quarter of these are standard commandos, while a second quarter is an assault team trained for vehicle combat and artillery. Another quarter are experts at sabotage, demolitions and stealth, while the last quarter is tech team devoted to keeping gear functioning or jury-rigging makeshift supplies. The black storm commando armor is based on the lightweight armor of the stormtrooper scout, but is coated with an advanced polymer called reflec which bends light and sensor energy away from the trooper. ![]() ![]() ONLY the general has the red bandoliers and the red visor. NO hook in the left side of the bucket. Any other remark? --------------------------------------------- ![]() ![]() From the General Weir 2-pack: (Added by Shadow) ![]() ![]() ![]()

I've been noticing it for awhile, but haven't said anything. When a current CRL is made I think we should allow the round aerator (I think the figure has it) but have the custom one Highly Recommended. -iz Edited by izzi, Mar 10 2010, 12:20 AM.

Yeah there were no decals on any lid pic i could see. Not sure if the round areator is just not on Weir, the pic with Luke and the 2 commandos is very black and dark and looks as tho there isnt much at all on it, but would say its pretty much a basic scout lid, black with no decals. Its pretty much a black biker... |

That last pic doesn't have a red lens, so it's not Weir. It's just a plain Shadow Scout. |

True Iz, I think it's an artist impression as I don't think the pic of the normal biker scouts have an aeriator either. |

Maybe, but so was the vertical stripe on my Nova. But it is shown in detail in what is the best source for Shadow Scout armor pics. I believe that would make it the recommended choice, just not the only choice. We really have to start embracing the details that can set us apart from our white counterparts. Otherwise, we'll forever just be marked as repaints. -iz |

I checked the comics, in fact none of the Shadow scout has the aereator (but none of the regular TB has it either!!) Anyway I think Izzi's right, to point to those small differences is a good way to make clear that TX are not just the "black" version of every other trooper. We need to know too that previously approved Shadow Scouts don't need to modify their bucket to keep their TX designation but it will be a good idea to do it if they want to push accuracy one step further. |

Well so far i have had to make a few changes to my costume for clearance resubmission. My grey hose on the TD has to be painted black. The grey discs need to be black also. No gray rectangle either on chest plate. Black straps to be added over the quads and also a black strap on the back between the rear of the belt and the backplate itself. The lid full black with no decals. |

Go with it, because most likely it looks right. I don't see any gray decals on the references. I wish some of our current shadow scouts would come out of the woodwork to lend a hand to the VCRL. |
