Anybody pick up Tales of Vesperia for the 360? My copy just shipped out from Amazon and I am dying to tear into it. It looks like a lot of fun. I love the cel-shaded graphics from the preview images and can't wait to see them in glorious hack 'n slash action.

To all you Vesperia players: did you go for the premium or standard edition? I have to admit, I wanted to get the standard since it was cheaper, but the collector in me couldn't pass up such a nice looking LE.

I want it, but I don't have a 360. If I had a 360 and a job, I'd go for the premium edition.

Kousuke Fujishima, Motoi Sakuraba (I admit - Neku's last name was a major factor in my decision to buy SubaSeka. XD)... those are some of the best parts of the Tales series right there. The premium edition puts little bits from both of them and sticks it in a pretty package. =D

I'm mostly a fan of the Phantasia storyline (Phantasia, Symphonia, Dawn of the New World, and some side games), since those are the only Tales games I have systems for. X_x

I'd say more, but then this would turn into a general Tales of topic.

Haha...sound like a fine reason to pick up SubaSeka to me! And yes, I like Motoi Sakuraba's music as well. I ordered the Tales of Vesperia soundtrack from CDJapan and have been listening to it ever since I received it. I love his soundtrack scores.

Speaking of Sakuraba, it's kind of interesting that Neku has the same last name as a well-known music COMPOSER.

...sorry, had to throw that out there.

There's just something amazing about Sakuraba's music scores though. It's so... epic, especially any battle themes he composes. I've listened to his music so often that I can recognize his style instantly. First time I heard the Smash Bros. Brawl remix to the Melee menu theme, I spazzed.

The only problem with his style is that sometimes his songs sound to similar or he recycles pieces of songs for other games.

...by now, I've probably thrown the original topic out of the window. Sorry.

Very true. You have to wonder if the creators did that on purpose!

I need to go back and re-listen to some of the tracks from the Vesperia soundtrack. The music is indeed very epic. My only complaint with the Vesperia OST is that it didn't even include Kane o Narashite/Ring a Bell. I love that song.

And no worries about staying on topic. We're still talking about the Tales of series, even if it's only the music. It's not like this conversation has turned spam-tastic as of yet. :D

Who knows. Sakuraba didn't do stuff for Square. He did a couple of things for Square Enix, but it was either from an originally Enix franchise (ex. Valkyrie Profile, Star Ocean) or it's an original game (like Infinite Undiscovery).

Namco Bandai is really pushing the Tales games they're releasing this year (it is the 10th year anniversary). They have this big promotion website where you do fan stuff for points to get Tales-related stuff.

Anyway, back to Tales: I'm looking forward to the ToS sequel; I want to see more on how ToS and ToP are connected. I'm not too keen on the simplified map, but at the same time, it's better than traveling around for hours just to get somewhere.
