Jorris looked at the keys in his hand. His parents had promised that they would pay for an apartment for his semester off. It was a nice gesture, but it was probably one brought forward by their guilt that they were never around when he was a teenager. Jorris was finally beginning to feel less resentful around them, and he would likely adore them again when he wasn't living with them. Hopefully Marie would be okay living alone for now. He hoped that now she could have a normal life. The world owed her that much.

Jorris decided that taking a year off from Oxford would help settle his mind. Things had gone well enough - he had made friends, kept up with school, and enjoyed not being mocked for his accent. But after his Junior year, he suddenly became discouraged. So he took a year off, flew back here and then....

Well, actually he had no idea what to do. His parents though the stress of being an older college student had gotten to him, and weren't pressuring him to work, but Jorris knew it was something else. He wanted to come back for a very specific reason. He just couldn't name it yet. He applied for a job as a research assistant at the local university, but until then, all he could do was wait. Maybe walk around the city to see if anything changed. He would do that later.

As he opened the door, he was greeted to both a beautiful site, and a terrible one. His digimon partner, Colin, was waiting for hm inside the flat, presumably having snuck in. Jorris hadn't seen him for a year or so, as Oxford didn't accept digimon, so Marie took care of him. Jorris dropped his luggage and ran to give his digimon a hug. It was then he realize dhow very small the flat was.

Beggars couldn't be choosers, he decided - it was, after all, bigger then his flat back in college.

Jorris looked forward to this gap year.

Jorris unlocked the door. He took a deep breath, then went in. He wondered how he would explain this to Colin. He had better make something up soon, though. Colin was staring at him as he entered.

"So, Colin... we'll be hosting a new guest." Jorris stepped aside as an elderly man walked in, and shook the snow off of his coat. Colin noticed that his face seemed familiar, but he couldn't say why. Though he wanted to be suspicious, he found this man extremely endearing, even though he hadn't said a word to the wormmon.

"We don't have too much room, I'm afraid. Are you still okay with sleeping on the couch," Jorris asked the older man.

"As long as you have heating," said the older man. Colin noticed the older man had almost no belongings except for his cane and a small briefcase.

The man was coming towards him. The man kneeled and held his hand out for the wormmon to touch.

"My name is Sal and i'm Jorris's grand-" The man started

"No," said Jorris. The older mans topped. "He's our partner. He gets told the truth. Colin, this is me from another future."

Colin looked at his tamer like he was an alien. Then he looked at the man claiming to be from the future.

"Colin," the old man said simply, and smiled. Colin knew in his heart it was true. He put his claw on the man's hand, in a show of acceptance of him, and these strange circumstances.
