Note(the dwarves are rumoured to be constructing their own airships but as of yet this cannot be confirmed or denied)

Kel Thad is ruled by the gold dwarf King Thorsik the steadfast and has been for the last 100 years. Thorsik is a tough hardnosed king and has the respect of all gold dwarves, under his rule the dwarves have prospered greatly. They have trade agreements with human rulers except Count Lebinham who is seen as their greatest enemy and the worst type of enemy, a betrayer. However as of yet the king has not been able to extract vengeance against the count but has proclaimed that day will be soon.

The dwarves mine the mountains that form the southern border of the Wastes and in doing so have found huge veins of iron ore and gemstones and the steel and stone that is produced is their primary export which they trade with all of the cities and villages of Ardus even Gelgreth. They have many renowned artisans and these individuals are in great demand throughout the land and have designed and built many of the great sites of the world.

The dwarves have an uneasy truce with Langhome,s King Haman due to the expansionist nature of Hamans kingdom but both see the value in the destruction of mutual enemies such as Count Libenham. The city is built inside a giant cave underneath mount Thad and is filled to the brink with buildings an is in a constant state of construction and development.

Notable features
The stone throne: A massive palace built for the king it hovers over the main furnaces and the main throne room is open face allowing the king to overlook his entire kingdom
It houses the royal family and 200 elite guards known as the Ferrites who are chosen from the greatest dwarven soldiers.

The house of Olik Grimhands; Olik Grimhands is considered to be the greatest dwarf smith of last 1000 years. He is responsible for the quality of dwarven steel and the creation of the most potent dwarven weapons. He is both a blacksmith and a runesmith and only the richest individuals approach him with commissions. Currently he is researching into star metals. His house is home to many great metallurgists and students sent by their rich parents to learn from the best

The forges of Khalin these forges are the primary source of income and religious worship in the dwarven kingdom and unusually it is not just dwarves who work here many samnites find refuge here, they are refugees of the god fall disaster and are few in number. King Thorsik offered them a chance to live as dwarves again. The Saminites here are happy with their new lot and there is very little discrimination to speak of towards them and they have proved to be hardworking and above all trustworthy

Notable persons:

King Thorsik the steadfast has been king for 120 years and has 9 sons, he has brown hair and has unlike many of his kin gone bald. He is tough, resilient and hard spoken, he doesn’t tolerate failure or suffer fools lightly, in his mind every dwarf must fulfil a purpose and those without are worthless and to be ignored. Through his rule the dwarves are more prosperous than they could of dreamed but the strict nature of dwarf society means that individuals have little time for enjoyment.

Priest Darick Tellhammer
He is the chief religious leader of Kel Thad and is responsible for ensuring that all dwarves find purpose and commitment through the teachings of Khalin. He is the kings chief advisor in most areas of dwarven life. He is 198 years old and is nearing the end of his life and is currently looking to find a worthy successor.

Ale master Faygrim:
He is the producer of many fine ales and has a great deal of influence in the dwarven community and is a political activist who is opposed to the kings workhouse mentality. He is a great believer that if you work for life at least in some point you should enjoy it a little and that dwarven children should be able to choose their destiny to some degree. This had lead to his arrest and imprisonment on different occasions and puts him at odds with the church.
