I've noticed a ridiculous amount of Vaapad users on this site, and I'd just like to comment on it. In the "official Star Wars canon," if I remember right, only three people ever got particularly skillful using Vaapad, and only Mace Windu remained on the light side. I know the style sounds appealing to some but please keep in mind that it is very "unrealistic" to have three or four people (or more) using it with any large amount of skill...maybe we should even make it a request-only style.

Nothing personal against anyone here, by the way - I know you probably don't mean anything ill by doing it, but it is stretchig the suspension of disbelief I have a bit and also sort of cutting down on the "specialness" of characters who were sort of designed around the concept of Vaapad, or who it fits particularly well (my other character being one - yes, I know it sounds like the pot's calling the kettle black, but I don't want to explain how the concept fits him 'cause I haven't had him start using it yet).

Yes but we dont go and do everything 'by the book'. Sure, we do like to stick around the canon things, but would it not be unfair to say "Well you three can use Vaapad then but nobody else can."?

And would it also not be unfair because it gives them the upper-hand in combat, presenting an unfair advantage?

So balance it out by maybe making your character a little less good with force powers, or something. I'm pretty sure people know how to try and make things fair. For instance, this profile's character is really talented with farsight, telekinesis, and empathy, but he's quadripalegic and is significantly worse at lightsaber combat than someone who wields their ligthsaber with their body. I also know of a cahracter on this site who's a "lightsaber combat specialist," and I would assume he focuses on combat more than, say, energy drain or something.

I'm saying Vaapad is supposed to be a rare and powerful skill, and making it this widespread is sort of going against canon, suspension of disbelief, and sort of watering it down, in my opinion.

I actually don't think there are very many other user other than myself, I know there have been a few past who have requested it exclusively. Don't get Form VII and Vaapad confused as the same thing for they are in fact not the same. Vaapad is a variation of Form VII created by Mace Windu for Lightside users; where as Form VII is actually and officially recognized as Juyo and is considered a Classic Form

I think I've seen Zar'oc use it, and maybe one other...I guess three's not so bad, but I just don't want to have new guys join and say, "hey that style's cool, I'm gonna use it..." sort of like (if anyone knows what I'm talking about) how the number of dual sword-wielding good-aligned drow PC's jumped after R. A. Salvatore started writing about Drizzt, you know? He was supposed to be a sort of unique character, and all the clones sort of made the archetype (as it sort of has become) a joke, in my opinion.

I took a look around, and we actually only have four people using Vapaad, as far as i can tell. A large number of people use Juyo, but Juyo and Vaapad are not the same thing and thus the people that only use Juyo cant be counted.

However, i still think things are fine as they are. People that do use Vaapad are not indestructible, in fact its quite bad for those Light-sided people as it draws on darkness, making them more susceptible to corruption. As for the Dark Sided people...we are evil lol we dont care.

Besides Vaapad doesnt really do that much to improve skill anyway. A person using Vapaad could be beaten as easily as someone using Makashi, Shii-Cho or any of the other forms...

Vapaad is a form of lightsaber fight, if someone whishes to use it then they will. Just like any other form. What varies is the level of mastery.

Just like force lightning, only strong enough sith can use, nevetheless it has become a normal power on all sith here on AKT.
