Once upon a time on Mon Calamari; Cyris vs. Scipio only

The world of Mon Calamari was unusual and full of water. Cyris walked the planks of the surrounding water environment, looking around. He glanced at the nearby city. The planet was secured by the Jedi Rebellion and the Mon Calamari continued their support of it. The day was peaceful and picture perfect.

Suddenly he felt something. Something strange almost a convergence in the Force.

He turned around to see what it was.

So much for it being peaceful he thought.

Zane walked up behind Cyris casually. He felt the man watching the watery world and adoring his beauty. He didn't quite understand the reason for the such feelings. It was water, big deal. To Zane's mind there was water everywhere, why bother over one little ocean in such a vast galaxy.

When Cyris turned, he dimly felt his mood shift. He also read the change on his face. The smile that had been written all over the man's features was gone. He looked at him blankly.

"This is no reflection on your allegiances as I don't care." He pulled his lightsaber from his belt and ignited it, no anger or any sort of emotion showing. Not that his calm was a farce, he really felt nothing.

"I came for a training exercise." He brought the blade into a high guard. "If you would permit me."

Whatever he sensed subsided but Cyris cautiously took it into consideration with this person he met.

Surprised as he was, the man wanted training from him but didn't bother asking for his name.

"Well perhaps you can start off by first telling me your name and that sort of thing." he said looking at the man holding the saber.

Zane bowed his head slightly, honoring his would-be opponent.

"Know me as a soldier, that is all i am to you." He raised his saber again.

"By training, I of course meant duel."

"Oh, yes of course I knew what you meant." he said to the man who still wouldn't give his name. He sensed something more than a soldier.

Cyris then ignited his saber with his right hand.

"Whenever you are ready, soldier."

Zane paused only a second to focus his mind, then rushed Cyris. Barely a moment before crashing into Cyris, he halted abruptly, bringing his saber down in a slash straight into Cyris' head.

Cyris expected the soldier's charging move.

Cyris put his saber up to block and pushing his saber away slightly. He then made a sweeping slash into his midsection by twisting his wrist.

OOC: Are we using Force powers here or not?

OOC: not really. just the normal internal stuff. He doesn't really know much about his powers.

IC:
Zane slid back from the sweep, and slashed up across Cyris' abdomen.

Cyris backs away from his slash upward.

Cyris quickly does a roundhouse kick to his hamstring area of his leg, causing him to fall forward. Cyris attempts a slash to his back.

Zane rolled with the kick and escaped the slash at his back. He drove his feet forward, so that if the kick connected he would hit Cyris in the knees and knock him down. If not, he would propel himself to his feet, saber at hand.

He was still learning to use the weapon, hence the training battle, but he fully intended to use every other martial arts he knew to best his opponent.

Cyris did a kick twirl in the air to avoid the soldiers attack and landed several feet in front of him.

Standing in defensive position, he moves his feet to gain an offensive move and makes a slash to his upper body.

Cyris' kick twirl threw him of balance as he came to his feet, so rather than block Cyris' strike, he simply avoided it with a quick spin to his left.

Regaining his balance he slashed low at Cyris, attempting to make him back up and attack from a high point.

Cyris swiftly blocks the low attack by bringing his saber down. It was a good move by the soldier, for now.

Cyris brings his saber to a counterclockwise slash to the soldiers head.

Rather than block the slash to his head, Zane ducked under it, allowing it to go over his head. Dropping to one knee he stabbed at Cyris' abdomen hard. The blade itself was weightless, so the attack would be easy to avoid, but that's what he wanted.

Stabs cannot be blocked as the blade is pointing in a straight line, but they can be redirected. Redirection of energy keeps it circulating rather than pushing it away. Zane knew enough about fighting to know that the easiest way to beat a stronger opponent is to tire him out by using his skill against him. The only way to do that is to make him miss. Zane planned on doing just that.
