On Coruscant the stage was set, a sparring room inside the Sith temple. The light showed the room to its entirety, seeming to watch the happenings of the room with a mild cruelty, as if threatening to dim further. The floor is tiled with strong, smooth woods that felt cool on the bottoms of Cinaed's feet.

Walking to the far end of the room, he was dressed in only a loose fitting pair of black breaches, the long, rippling muscles of his body flexing as they moved. His hands were wrapped in white straps of cloth up to his elbow, and in the loose grip of his right hand was an elegantly crafted lightsaber.

"Alright," he said finally, turning around to see his opponent with his icy blue eyes, his messy white hair flowing slightly with the movement. "Ready when you are."

Vexas was also barefooted, wearing a traditional pair of loose fitting hakama pants. His black kimono hung open loosely, his long and wide sleeves hiding most of his hand. On his waist was wound a black sash, upon which his own slightly curving lightsaber hilt was clipped. Over the black kimono was draped a sleeveless white haori, Vexas' formal Sith "robes" which were in reality simply Echani garments. He wore a pair of tight black cloth coverings on his hand, going from knuckles to mid forearm. His silver hair was pulled back into a loose pony tail, and he had removed the cloth that hid his mismatched eyes. One eye remained normal, the other was a bio-engineered black sphere with a gold iris.

"Then let us begin."

He said calmly, removing his saber and igniting the red blade. He brought it up in a salute, before letting it drop to his side at a 45 degree angle. His classic ready stance.

Cinaed nodded in reply, closing his eyes as he took a moment to center himself. Breathing slowly, they opened, steadied on Vexas' own eyes as he initiated with a step forward. Before his next stop, the lightsaber ignited as the red blade painted the air with swatches of crimsom light. His feet quickened as he propelled himself forward at a quick rate, effortlessly gliding across the ground with a rare, eerie grace.

As he came closer to Vexas, his saber moved infront of him in a forward cross guard before pushing further into the cross extension, then moving into a laxed reflection, his wrist flicking as his saber moved in a horizontal arc towards the right shoulder of Vexas.

Vexas easily slipped to the side a single step, thrusting the blade of his own saber under the tip of Cinaed's and lifting, throwing the timing of the slash off to give him the crucial half second needed to step into the whole created in his defenses. With a snap of the elbow and roll of the shoulder his blade flicked around like the tongue of a viper, on a collision course with Cinaed's heart. Their was no wasted effort whatsoever, only a quick shuffle and flex of the muscles of the arm.

Cinaed took a step back in order to set up his defense, pulling his arm back with the bend of his elbow and wrist. At the same time his elbow had turned, so now his blade was vertical as he moved it infront of Vexas'. With the flick of his wrist, he twisted the blade under Vexas' own, and then back so that it was on the other side, helping the momentum Vexas had given it, yet slight pushing it to the side, out of harm's way.

He then stepped the foot back forward as he pushed his saber in for a light thrust toward's the chest of Vexas. This attack was by no means a lunge, a simple step forward and the thrusting of his arm was all he needed.

A snap of the elbow and flick of the wrist reversed his saber's direction, impacting the tip of Cinaed's saber with a sparking clash.

"Is that all? Im almost dissapointed..."

With nothing but a slight extension of his arm he slid his own saber down the length of Cinaed's stabbing blade, and gave a fraction of a step to the side, letting the younger Echani's blade pass by him, keeping his saber between Cinaed's blade and his body as his own blade slid right down the inside of his apprentice's blade in a deceptively quick thrust to the chest.

Cinaed smiled as Vexas spoke, pulling back his saber when Vexas' began to slide down it in a thrust of the same nature. All it took was the bend of his elbow to pull it back to his guard. "I've hardly begun," he replied as his arm pulled back so as to cross blades with Vexas. Pushing his right arm out some, he moved the blade to Vexas' left side, past the right shoulder of Cinaed, who quickly adverted his blade to a horizontal position, thrusting his arm forward again as the sizzling beam neared the diaphram of Vexas with a deft speed.

Vexas didnt even blink, only waited for their blades to contact. With a twist of the elbow he snaked his blade around Cined's thrust and turned it harmlessly to the side, going so far as to allow it to pass less than 2 inches from his throat. Then he abruptly switched styles, ending the handicap and moving straight into his own self developed Arash style. A flick of the wrist and elbow had his saber moving forward in a staccato slash to the midsection.

"Good, otherwise this would be boring."

He said, never losing his cold demeanor.

Cinaed pulled his blade back immediately upon realizing the parry, taking a step back as he took a moment to consider Vexas' new stance, barely moving his blade up in time for an upside down block of Vexas' saber, flicking his wrist so as to push it away. He immediately straightened out his arm and wrist, replying with another thrust of his saber toward's the chest of Vexas, maintaining his Makashi stance.

"Juyo?" he asked passively, as if they were not wielding life-threatening weapons against eachother.

"Half right, the Juyo style I was taught was incomplete. I studied the famous Jedi Master Mace Windu and found that his Vaapad style was his own finished version of Juyo. Rather than simply take his style, I developed Juyo into my own form... Arashi."

He said, as he spun into the slash, actually blocking the strike behind his back as he came inside the opening between saber and body as he lashed out with a side snap kick to his opponent's stomach.

Vexas' style emphasized not only saber combat, but physical combat as well. His motion easily not only blocked Cinaed's attack, but also get him in close for his kick, with the Cinaed's saber effectively blocked, he was easily able to attack while inside the blind spot created by the thrust.

Cinaed listened intently as Vexas' explained the style. His saber blocked behind Vexas' back, Cinaed was surprised to see the foot come up to his midsection, impacting roughly as his left hand flew up to the foot, too late to block. Yet Cinaed held his ground, taking the slgihtest step back from the impact as his hand pushed the foot out of the way in order for him to reach out with his sword hand further.

That complete, he stepped in with his right foot, turning his back to Vexas' as his right hand let go of the saber, his pinky pushing the pommel of it up so as to create a spinning momentum. Still against Vexas', the younger Echani grabbed the lightsaber in a reverse-grip, sliding it along Vexas as it tottered over the side. The pommel now pointing to the sky as he held it, his right foot finished it's step as he lowered it into a vertical. Ducking too low for Vexas' saber to reach him in its current position, he thrust his own saber past his side, an attack that would've impaled Vexas' without a tight defense.

It was all one fluid motion, his left hand removing Vexas' foot from his body as he stepped forward, pivoting on his left foot as he reversed the grip of his saber and thrust back, ducking low, away from Vexas' blade. It was clear that Makashi would no longer be any use. Perhaps the real fun was about to begin.

Vexas pivoted on his foot, bringing the leg he had kicked out with back and around, taking the slash on the armor on his shin. The Cortosis woven greave sparked as it pushed the blade out of the way, yet Vexas did not press forward with a counter attack of his own.

"Stop rolling around like an idiot..."

He said, refering to the younger Echani's bizarre crouching attack.

"Stand up and fight me, prove you deserve your new rank."

He said, stepping back and assuming his Arashi stance once again.

Cinaed stood and turned laxedly, a ghostly smirk touching his face as his eyes fell back on Vexas'. "That attack would've killed anybody else," he proclaimed with a shrug, flipping his saber within his hand back to a normal grip. With a flourish, he settled into an Ataru stance, his saber held behind him like a viper, ready to strike at a moment's notice.

His right hand rested before him, beckoning Vexas to initiate this time. "Would you care to do the honours?" He asked his older counterpart.
