I've looked to see if there were answers anywhere, so please forgive me if they escaped my notice. I'm not a newbie when it comes to PBP RP, I've moderated one, administered my own, and played on a good number. 1: Are starting level characters permitted a beginning-level force power? For instance the ability to blind an opponent for a few short seconds. Like a "learner" ability not inline with the standard repertoire of "jump, speed, push, pull". 2: What is a reasonable pace of progression to you? (Admins, Mods, etc) I don't want to be stuck playing an initiate or padawan forever. Obviously rank changes must be earned and played through, but what dictates a fair rate of exchange? Generalities are fine, I'm just looking for what the staff permit really. 3: I'm interested in playing a follower of the potentium theory. Would this place me under the Neutral affiliation, or perhaps the (returning) Shadow Jedi? The Potentium is a creed where the sides of the force are viewed as being just usages of the force, and that the potential for dark or light actions was in the user of the force, and not the force itself. As such the Jedi exiled the Potentium way back in the old Republic, and I don't think the Sith would be very accepting. Partly I'm just trying to get a feel for the community and get some information as I hammer out my first sheet here. |

To answer your questions, here I go: 1) Starting level character will be able to use basic powers like the ones you mention, of course to do some more advance power you would need to rp learning them and such. 2) On this we have been having trouble for the Knights of both sides keep getting killed ( looks at Swift), but we are currently entering a face were we will be promoting padawans and sith initiates to Knight level. 3) About the potentium theory, well that would be the Shadow Jedi, the Shadow Grand Master Shinobi is a believer of it himself. Hope that helped. |

Believers in potentium can fall under any of the factions, because it's more of a personal philosophy than a standing of any order. If your character wants to do good for others, and is righteous, join the Jedi. If s/he is aspiring to gain personal power and influence, then go after the Sith. If you don't want to make up your mind, enjoy flip-flopping at a moments notice, and can scream 'balance' at the top of your lungs, talk to Shinobi

Thanks guys. Are there any rules for faction membership, recruitment requirements, or the like? Also, would it be reasonable to assume they could start as a padawan? I don't necessarily want to play someone up from childhood, or the absolute dredges of no-training.

Initiate = padawan with no master, so you have the power level of one. |
