Irony, a silly word to describe a means by which the gods play jokes on their creations. This seemed to hold no truer for Artorius Xeronai, a warrior whom had lived the life of a slave for far too long. A man whom had made a name for himself as a gladiatory puppet under the grip of the powerful crime lord Sokla yet had seemingly escaped that life during the great slave rebellion during the final championship match. Now it would seem that fate would draw him back to the very thing he seemed to be running away from as the Tournament of Champions would serve as a means to not only test the training he has undergone all these years against the top competitors of the galaxy but also see what the galaxy in general has to offer; having heard of the jedi and sith but tales of non-force sensitives held their merits too.

For now however, things were not so bad as this was but a VR simulation but apparently it would be as if one were alive in the machine world. All the senses would tell the body that the experiences that it goes through would actually be happening and as such, this would in essence be "real". As such, after having already placed the virtual reality visor upon his face and activated the machine, Artorius was transported to a world that while a spectacle to behold as it was far larger than the Arena he had fought in, the guidelines were still the same.

When his body fully materialized, Xero wore his Zero armor which was a simple black body glove adorned with plasteel plates in key locations to offer optimal defense while not disrupting his mobility completely. A pair of armored boots and gauntlets added to the outfit yet what completed it was a long, brown, sleeveless trenchcoat with fur collar and a faceless helmet held in his right hand. Taking a deep breath as he could hear the roar of the crowd even from behind his gated location, the man's blood began to boil with excitement over what was to come. He did not know who he would face or what this fighter brought to the table and that was the thrill of combat. True this was not the real thing but then that meant that he did not truly have to worry about killing anyone; he could go all out without fear of breaking his tenet to no longer kill.

The gate finally began to open and as it did, it brought with it a gust of warm, dry air that felt as real as the sandy deserts of Tatooine itself. Blowing upon his shoulder-length golden-brown hair and trenchcoat, the man knew he was just about ready. taking a final deep breath to truly get a "sense" for the terrain he would be fighting in, Xero put on his helmet which soon activated, bringing up a HUD for him to see as his hair trailed out of it. Eyes glowing a shade of crimson, Xero stepped into the arena as he felt the sands part slightly with every step of his boot. Finally standing about five feet from where he entered, the gate behind him closed and disappeared to become part of the circular wall that made up the ring. Raising his left arm to honor the crowd's cheers, Xero now awaited the arrival of his first opponent as his blaster remained holstered on his left side and blades sheathed along his back; all his weapons hidden from view for the moment by his trenchcoat.

Let it not be said that a mans dedication to his craft and expertise eld results proving that the level of mastery would reflect his own determination towards them, but one must not always look at how far one has come or how much one has gained. Power on its own can be wielded by a child with near the same results as if one had trained to acquire such. but true mastery of power lies not in the acquisition of or amass of power, but in how well one can use said power. it was this idea alone that intrigued Kryce and brought him to the virtual setting he was to embark towards. Kryce had to admit that it was more than unusual to under go the process of mimicking a real fight within cyberized media, but it was the restrictions that most intrigued him. no more could a man be powerful just by his wealth of force, but must have the wisdom to be just as successful with only a small share of it.

Upon his diplomatic mission to meet with the Alliance, chatter was heard of the tournament to prove not who had the greatest power but who could more effectively fight when powers were equal. Kryce was not exactly an eager person to launch into a fight, especially one with no meaning however the very thought that a person could be called the very best within the galaxy having never fraught the majesty of his peoples art was a travesty at best. Kryce was the best practitioner of his people's art and he believed his people's art to be the best of the galaxy, however he never made to leap to call himself the greatest. Joining this tournament was not about asserting himself as the best but in proving that no one could stand up to the might of his people's art. should he fa in battle he would take what he leaned and better his peoples art that they should never fall to it again.

It was a clever system, to say the very least. Kryce brought along a discblade from his people for scan that he could use it within the games. He was told that the digital world was fully customizable and that he would be able to change his appearance to protect his identity but Kryce saw no need for this. he would battle in his peoples armor under his peoples banner.

When his avatar materialized within the holding cell he could immediately sense the difference. it was an odd sensation that he didn't rightly know how to explain. his weapons were already on his person stored on his back where he kept the the light discs, the blaster magnetized to the small of his back. while he awaited his opponent to finish the alterations, kryce threw out the disc blades testing out the reaches of his ability. it would be better to know how that his limitations were in he force than find later that he was ill prepared for the confrontation. After a slight demonstration of his talents, Kryce had a good sense of what he could and could no do. with a signal that he was ready the doors opened, he entered the arena and they closed behind him.

His opponent was a crowd pleaser to be sure, likely learning to fight within arena's just like this, as made apparent by his attire and demeanor. Kryce didn't come for the crowd or the recognition. he reached behind him and retrieved the two discblades which he held in either hand. The arena was cylindrical extending 25 foot into the air. the ground was sand which made for an odd concept of battle. the Crowd were holograms of the actual crowds that gathered to watch. there would be to need to protect them from harm. His opponent likewise was only a representation and so Kryce felt no remorse over anything that should befall the man. He needed only the signal to begin.

Artorius had waited along with the crowd for the arrival of his opponent and it seemed as if the fates would not disappoint. A man clad in a suit he had not seen before and with weapons odd to the still young firerreo, Artorius's curiosity for this man's skill only grew. Of course, it seemed the man did not seek to talk and, being a giving person, Xero would not disappoint. Rather than try to ask the man's name or what style he uses, Xero knew, at least for the moment, that the best way to discover these things was through combat. As such, a simple attack from a distance would be the most practical of strategies and judging from the shape and form of the man's weapons and the fact that Xero could "feel" a force presence from him led the firerreo to believe that perhaps there was a bit of ranged combat to the man.

All this thinking led to a calm silence beginning to build within the crowd from the anticipation of the first attack. The automated referee announcing their names and calling for the start of the match, Xero's moment was up. In a swift, fluid motion that one would almost believe was inhuman, Xero drew his bluebolt blaster, aiming at Kryce and firing a three shot volley at the man; the first two aimed at the man's right shoulder and chest while the final shot was aimed at his lower left hip. No sooner had Xero done this did he spread his legs slightly to prepare for the next attack.

With a Discblade in either hand Kryce felt more at home in this arena than he would have thought. He had never fought for "sport" however that were more than a few times he had found himself trapped with an adversary of unknown caliber surrounded by onlookers calling for blood, and Kryce was not the least bit squeamish. Kryce's helm canceled the sound of the cyber-crowd as it was designed to do. straight forward widening his target area. though the principal would seem foolish giving the opponent a larger area to aim at, it in fact gave to much for one to concentrate on. an untrained shooter may fire wildly and as such this techneque wouldn't work, but this man was no amateur. the opponent would have to isolate where they wished to hit him in their mind before attacking which made it far easier to avoid and counter attack. His arms were to his sides with blade sin hand. tension rose as the two looked each other over as if analyzing the very possibilities the other could exhibit, or at least thats what Kryce was doing.

The signal of the match to begin sounded and the man before him quickly drew his blaster and fired off a volley of shots but in wide burst. Kryce only reacted in the ways he was taught form a child. He quickly rotated his body throwing his left leg forward and using the action to sling his left arm which released the disc aimed for decapitation. as his body reached 45 degrees the force inertia kicked in redirecting his momentum upward slightly as if pole vaulting over a bar. the first two shots aimed for his right shoulder missed their mark by 8" above his chest. the one for his hip only missed the small of his back by 2". after the bolts passed his body he through his hips to the right and spun releasing the other blade aimed for the mans waist. the construction of the blades would cause them to deflect off of the surfaces of the walls around the arena. The rounded walls, should the blades miss their target, would cause the discs to redirect at 40 degree angles to either side of the mans current position. he would follow the blades movement and manipulate them as necessary through the force and as such only needed to keep his eyes on his opponent.

Xero watched carefully from behind his masked helmet as his opponent reacted almost instantaneously to his own assault. It was a brilliant display to say the least but one that Xero read well enough as he had already deduced that those weapons were not just for show. As the first of the discblades made its way towards Xero, the firerreo waited keeping his peripheral on the opponent as he waited for the right moment to avoid and mount a counter; after all, what better way to thrill the crowd than with a little showmanship as it seems his opponent has learned quick. Soon, as the blade was mere inches from the firerreo's plasteel helmet, Xero's quickly shifted his upperbody slightly to the right as he fired off another pair of shots towards the man that was now up in the air; the volley aimed at his waist to attribute for the fall.

As he did this, Xero allowed gravity to do its work as his body began to fall towards the ground. Landing in a side roll as the sandy floor cushioned his landing somewhat, the firerreo was quick to bring himself back up to a standing position with his blaster aimed towards where he assumed the opponent might land should he avoid direct shots from up in the air. In truth, to Xero it seemed both he and his opponent employed straightforward tactics to test their advesary and the firerreo had already learned much; not only was this man quite skilled but Xero had detected a flare up in his force signature which allowed him to deduce that things would be more than interesting. For now, Xero watched carefully for the next attack as he would keep things at a range until he could find an opening; no doubt the ricochete of at least the first blade would arrive soon while the other was a little trickier as he would no doubt hit the sandy floor instead. For now he waited though to see what else could come up.

OOC: not sure you paid much attention to the weapons i am using. Disc blades of the Zeison Sha

ic:

It was a effort to avoid the blades, as Kryce's opponent did but he misjudged the blades size considerably as most do. The man in the armor waited till he blades were mere inches from his helmet before shifted his upperbody slightly to the right. the 16" diameter blade with vertex aimed for the center of his throat could not be avoided so quickly and with such short movement. the blade impacted three inches in from the left side of his throat, the armor managing to deflect the blade slightly to the left, only tearing through 2 inches of the left side of the neck. the blade tore through the mans carotid artery, flexing the armor into the wound which would prevent the wound from being able to close.

before the shock of the initial cut could register, he managed to fire off two shots while in motion just as the second blade struck him in the waist tearing through the armor and becoming lodged in his abdomen pinned by the plates of the armor but not before the hook like edge within him had cut through some of his intestines and hooked a bit more.

Kryce having just missed the initial shot and landed to his feet and burst to the left using force speed to narrowly avoid the oncoming shots which just missed his back. Kryce used the momentum to run slightly up the wall and pulled the first blade, that had impacted the mans neck, back towards him. Kryce pushed off the wall back flipping to land once again on his feet before the discblade returned and he he pulled it back to his hand.

[ooc]Ok so I guess the other ooc posts may be deleted as the match is now finished.[/ooc]

It seemed that Artorius had miscalculated his opponent's weapons and it was a mistake that cost him dearly. The pain began to register yet soon, as if his own force energy was reacting unconsciously, Xero's crucitorn ability began to kick in. True he was for all intensive purposes a dead man, bleeding out on the arena floor like some rookie getting killed in the first few seconds of training yet this in itself was a lesson he would not soon forget.

His body did begin to fall as the second bladed disc lodged itself into his side and blood began to gush from his mouth. This however was not the surprise for as Xero's back hit the floor, his vision fading with his hearing, he could see his opponent flipping over him as if in slow motion and though he wanted to get one final shot off, the firerreo's respect for the duel in itself would not let him. Instead, he died a bloody mess as the holograms of the crowd continued to cheer and all that was left of him was a smile on his face before his avatar began to fade from the simulation.

Moment later, within the realm of reality, Artorius removes his helmet and thanks the engineers that had assisted to get him hooked up in the first place. Walking to an area where other combatants could sit and relax after their "match", Xero took a seat on a stoney chair and began to run through the battle in his head again. It was interesting to experience "death" even if it was a simulation and could not truly predict how such things actually feel, yet once more, the firerreo was more intrigued by his opponent's movements and weapons; the galaxy, to him, began to grow ever more interesting it would seem.

well bud im sorry to say that the size of the blade makes a big difference in you you can dodge them. a small blade can be evaded much easier. the key is that while the attacks were by no means unblockable, you simply did not post in a way to not be hit. in the RP world that is how you fight. if your post does not show a possible means for avoiding then you take damage. regardless i think that nothing should be changed until the staff makes a decision. from your perspective you made a misjudgment on what weapons i was using, didnt post a suitable defense, and it may cost you the match which is your fault alone.

from my perspective
1. i attacked
2. you didn't look or ask to see what kind of weapons i am using. you assumed and assumed wrong.
3. you only state that you only "shifted his upperbody slightly to the right", which without moving your legs or waist you cant move your neck out of the path. you didn't twist, or bend your knees or another motion.
4. waited till the blade was "mere inches from the firerreo's plasteel helmet" before moving
5. did not use the force to deflect, enhance your speed or agility, or anything else
6. ignored the second blade coming from you.
7. then just "allowed gravity to do its work as his body began to fall towards the ground" which since you weren't in air just means you collapsed your legs and fell straight down.

I have no intention of arguing the matter. i just ask that since you do no agree with the post that nothing is done until a staff verdict is made.

Staff decision:

Both the size of the blade and poor dodging appear to be to blame here. While I see you are trying to put a show on so to speak, simply tilting your head to try and avoid a foot-long or so blade wont really end well and with no apparent sign of Force use or even any real attempt to avoid the discblade with simple body movement its almost as bad as not dodging at all

OOC: Hmm, was trying to go for a side roll as a dodge but guess I did not write it well enough. Oh well, as the staff has decided, I guess then Kryce wins the match or something.
