The Expedition to the Fishing Village suffered a handful of delays, although Fred assured Taima that it was normal when dealing with so many important people. It didn't matter to Taima though as at least he was able to train. Finally, everything was prepared.

Caravans filled with supplies were ready, palanquins were ready for the important officials and the escort was ready. Besides Seigrain and Fred, there was also Jack, Bruno, Oboru, Cory and Bone. Oboru was kept in a palanquin, with two flunkies Taima did not know flanking her the entire time. Cory and Bruno were discussing something with Seigrain, Bone was exercising while he was walking, looking pumped for a fight and Jack seemed aloof and distant.

They moved South-West, through the beautiful plains. Nothing occurred this time- thank God. They parked outside of a forest, which didn't look anywhere near as impressive as the one Taima had explored before. But it also wasn't as humid or creepy. Darkness came upon them quickly though as the night arrived.

Taima

Taima glanced at their petty band of travelers. He thought it was strange that they were even bothering talking to these village folk. With cannibals and the horrifying nature of the woods around, Taima knew that there was more to these simple people than their stupid doody headed mouths and their whole regular village act. However, it was a chance to get away from the prying eyes of his father and Idaima. While the other Senju were desperate to reclaim their place as the strongest in the village, Taima knew that was a pipe dream. Their name was forever tarnished by his father, and it was up to him to lead the next generation of Senju to restore their reputation, mostly by distancing himself from Daddums as much as possible.

Running a quick update around the delegation, Taima sighed. He had his usual protege back, but the Hyuuga's loyalty to the village rivaled only their own, the homo brigade was talking about something dumb, and he was pretty sure that Jack wasn't much in the mood for talking. Still he and Fred should probably do something around here, and he technically owed the former elite for his dramatic and somewhat flawed attempt at holding off the 4 undred and losing his much more agreeable partner. It was the least he could do to try and make it up to him.

Approaching Jack, Taima figured that he should start by thanking the former elite. Although he'd followed his orders and left him to fight off the Undread alone, Taima couldn't help but feel that perhaps he might have held some animosity towards him for losing his longtime partner. Oh well, Oboro was definitely not gonna talk to him, and Fred definitely needed to start getting out more and talk to some people outside of the clan. Approaching Jack, he raised a hand in recognition or surrender and reintroduced himself. "Hey Jack.... How you holding up buddy?" Taima tried his best to comfort him in the traditional manner of the Senju's. A status report before either a disdainful laugh or a quick slap on the shoulder to bring the bereaved back into the real world and stop moping around like a dumb stupid bitch all the damn time.

Jack didn't seem to hold anything against Taima, although his enthusiasm seemed to be lacking. He said "fine" in a way that suggested he didn't want to talk, but he did manage a faint smile, suggesting he held nothing against Taima despite the Senju's reputation or his actions during the evacuation.

Everyone went to sleep.

It was a very uneventful day. They went through the forest and parked next to a river. It was an impressive body of water and Seigrain informed them that they could possibly arrive near the end of tomorrow. Unfortunately, the only downside of this day was that the forest made it very difficult to maneuver the caravan around. Bruno made an observation that their party was simply too big and they would've saved more time sending a diplomat first.

You arrive at the fishing village late in the day, although Seigrain stops your party at a distance. He informs him that he- along with Bruno and Cory- will go check it out. The village is fenced in, although it was conveniently located next to the river. You see the outlines of some of the villagers, but you can't really tell their gender or race, or whether they can see you.

Much later at night, Seigrain returns and informs everyone that the villagers greeted them with some suspicions, but would be willing to receive them tomorrow morning. Everyone goes to sleep, with Fred, Taima, Jack, Cory and Bruno alternating watches.

Taima

Taima, sensing danger decided he'd set up a small hedge of trees to protect the group and allow the watchmen to have some elevation in case of treachery. No doubt the fishermen would be watching them tonight and they'd have to do their best to at least appear strong enough to defend themselves for the night. Hopefully the others would also be impressed with his green thumb and stop looking at him funny. The fact that they had to spend the night out in the woods was a little suspicious to Taima. Seigrain's group had spent a long time meeting with the village, but Taima figured that Father would have done the same if he was in their position.

Unfortunately, the following day wasn't much better. To kill the time, Fred took the first watch and Taima watched Fred take the first watch. There just wasn't a lot to do and Seigrain returned- stating that they had opened negotiations but still did not trust them. Night fell.

Another tedious day. Fred complains about being left out in the open, where it's too risky to bother training. The difference is...this time...Seigrain, Bruno and Cory don't return. Night falls and you still wait...and wait...and wait....

Taima

Taima sighed and considered their options. It was strange that the delagation hadn't returned back to camp after the days negotiations, but there was still the slim chance that the others hadn't been brutually massacred by the terrifying villagers and had merely been allowed to stay the night without informing them. Technically speaking, between Oboru and their position, they'd probably have noticed if the savages had started a fight with the delegation, the councilor and the infamous Bruno/Cody duo would definitely have put up enough of a fight for them to notice if that was the case. The third option was that there was treachery afoot and the delegation had been subdued without much of a fuss.

Looking around camp, Taima sighed. If something was amiss, then it probably wouldn't be too much trouble for their opponents to overpower the remaining members . Still, it didn't sit well with him that they didn't know very much of the fishing village as Seigrain, Cody, and Bruno were more concerned without talking with the village than scouting them out. Deciding they should be more pro-active, Taima approached Oboru to put together a plan of action. While the Senju had little to lose if this mission went awry, the Hyuuga were definitely about to pull something if the girl came with guards.

The guard stepped in between them, but Oboru waved him off.

"But your mother-"

"I'm aware, but this is an emergency."

Fred, Jack and Bone surrounded them, verbally debating what to do.

"I suggest we wait," Jack said uncharacteristically. "There might be a natural reason for the delay."

"I say we burst in there and kick everyones asses." Bone smashed his fists together.

"We could send someone in there and watch at a close distance...in the day." Fred offered.

"I could sneak in, I think." Oboru said- peering at the village. "It doesn't provide many blind spots for me to exploit though."

What does Taima want to do.

Taima

Taima weighed everyones opinions as he debated their options. Sure it was pretty suspicious that their guys hadn't come back, but if the situation was reversed, then they probably wouldn't have allowed a group as large as this visit the village either. Seigrain had already mentioned that the villagers didn't trust them and were being difficult. Perhaps he had finally broken them down and was allowed to sleep amongst them? Oh well, sitting nice and tight in the open woods was wasting valuable time and waiting for day light would only leave them totally exposed with no possibility of sneaking into the village and getting answers.

While charging or sneaking into the village without a just cause would probably sour the talks if things were proceeding naturally, Taima figured that even if something happened the fact that they were still being ignored meant that they weren't expecting anything from this half of the groupConsidering that he didn't have faith that the remaining members could muster the military power to get into the village and rescue their people. That left him only one option, he'd have play a little prank and get Seigrain to speak with him one way or the other.

"It's been two days of negotiations, I doubt they'd have let us live if they had done something to our people. So, I'll go and ask to speak to Seigrain with the excuse that the Kage has a message for him. Meanwhile Oboro will check out the village while they're focused on me. If something happened, then you guys should leave everything and inform the village and I'll stall for time and catch up later. If not then we'll only have lost a little sleep for nothing."
