Within 10 minutes, they were nearly ready to leave. The Razor was meditating, purging unholy thoughts from his head. He had to question the thought process behind his inclusion in this mission. Not only was he rescuing a woman, but he was being placed with people who likely wanted to send him into the afterlife. He sighed and opened his eyes and indeed, Shiroma was shooting him plenty of hostile glances. His son, Idaima, was mirroring his father, albeit more mildly.

If they wished to kill him, they were free to do so. The Razor knew he didn't stand a chance against either warrior and while he would not die with his head bowed passively, he had accepted that he had lived far longer than he deserved. Jim and Raivalle, his Bloodgorn Companions, stood nearby. Jim was trying to lighten up the mood, but the Razor ignored him and Rivaille was too stoic to give in to the banter. Raku-Raku and the Second Nasty Brother were odd additions, although the Razor was not familiar with either. Raku-Raku was a walking door mat, although the Razor didn't understand why as he was likely much stronger than the people who bullied him were. The Nasty Brother was...mysterious. Pompous, well spoken, conceited, cunning. The Razor stayed away from the political intrigues of Kamehameha, but he was sure that the Second Brother was much more dangerous than his siblings. But above everything, he seemed fiercely determined and ambitious.

The Razor frowned. This Village was destined to fail. With the Bloodgorn Clan, everyone seemed to be on the same page. They were brothers, fighting for their homes against an evil which united them. But Kamehameha was filled with too many people who had too many agendas. He personally doubted the majority of this group even cared about rescuing the abducted woman....and the Razor felt she was safer with the cannibals than with him. This was going to be a troubled night. Death was in the air...

Idaima stood a respectful distance behind his father and watched him glare holes into one of their companions. He recognized the monk as Razor, one of the Bloodgorn clan who had entered the village from the gate he was guarding during the purple genocide. Idaima had spared Razor and the rest of them and for his compassion he had been rewarded with disgrace. He vowed silently to himself that he would never allow that to happen again.

His gaze shfited to Raku-Raku. Even though he was a lightweaver he was always shunned by the rest of his clan. In truth Idaima felt bad for him. Even he didn't have it as bad as Raku-Raku, it was a shame really. He knew of Raku-Raku's strength but as his father would put it he was too soft for his own good.

Idaima didn't look over to Raivaille and Jim but he knew they were there. In all honesty he felt it was a bit over kill to have two council level fighters on this quest, especially since he could feel how weak their targets were. He supposed the kage was being overly cautious now after what had happened with the fishing village. Oh well, the mission would be an easy boring one so Idaima didn't put much thought into it.

Instead he focused his attention on Nasty-2. He didn't like him or any of his smelly family... they were too fishy and he didn't trust them. The village must of been desperate if they let them stay. Plus there was that one time they had the gall to try and extort him for sensing their power levels. Ever since then Idaima had wanted to put the punks in their place.

He heard his father clear his throat and realized what he wanted. Reaching out with his sense he felt for Ms Gruk's power level.

"There, I found Ms Gruk and the Cannibals that got her but we have to hurry. They're at the edge of my sensing range"

And so they left, moving at an incredible speed- although Idaima sensed they were slowing themselves for his sake. Even at full power, he was still slow compared to the council members. The Razor and even Raku-Raku looked like they were struggling, although the second Zolst must've been pretty fast as he didn't seem to be bothered as much.

"Halt," Rivaille hissed and everyone stopped. The drum beats were faint, but there. The stench of death lingered in the air. Shiroma grit his teeth, eyes wide in alarm.

"It's them," Jim said quietly.

"An acute observation," the second whispered sarcastically.

"Idaima," Shiroma waved towards Idaima. "Use your ability to scan..."

"North-west." the second finished. "Although there isn't much need. I can hear them. Two dozen on foot, maybe."

Idaima narrowed his eyes in a glare towards Nasty-2 annoyed that the mutant was, as Taima would put it, stealing his thunder. He wondered just how much that ugly frog man was actually hiding from the rest of them. Judging on how he didn't even seem to be struggling to keep up with the council members. With the cannibals looming close by perhaps this trip would be more insightful than he first thought.

Sensing the cannibals in the distance he wanted to see how strong each of them were. If they weren't too strong perhaps he could convince the group to split up into two teams, one to deal with the cannibals and one to go and rescue Gruk.

The power levels ranged from 30-40.

Rivaille had already started planning.

"Raku-Raku, you lead Idaima and Jim to Ms. Gruk. Take out any hostiles immediately and keep quiet. The Razor and I shall scout the cannibals. Shiroma and #2, you are our reserves. Be on your guarded."

"Wasted potential," the second hissed. The Razor seemed to be relieved he was going with Rivaille, but didn't say anything as both vanished in the darkness. Shiroma gave Idaima a curt nod, ignoring everyone else. Raku-Raku approached Idaima.

"Can you sense he?" Raku-Raku probably said her, but because her was whispering, the speech impediment was silent.

Idaima thought about objecting to Rivailles plan, after all wouldn't it of made more sense to send their healer with their group. He supposed it didn't really matter though since he also had some healing skills of his own so he bowed his head to his father then signaled for Raku-Raku and Jim to follow him using his senses to lead them in the direction of Ms.Gruk and her abductors but also being careful to keep track of everyone else in the area. He wanted to make sure they didn't run into any ambushes but also to see if the others needed help or not.

He was actually kind glad Rivaille had split them up like this. Jim was friendly enough and the senju didn't mind Raku-Raku. It also pleased him that Nasty-2 was being left behind with his father to steam. Now that he thought about it the two were kind of similar... which meant they would either get along perfectly or be at each others throats. Still that stupid frog man didn't stand a chance against father and he hoped father would put him in his place.

Focusing back to the task at hand Idaima dashed through the trees towards their next encounter.

Something was...off..

Idaima's sensory abilities weren't picking up Ms. Gruk, which made little sense. He felt a churning feeling in his stomach. Raku-Raku was looking incredibly grim and stoic, eyes focused ahead. Even Jim seemed rather unnerved. Something bad was happening...or perhaps had already happened. Mist gently floated while the trees seem to loom to high that the moon might as well not have existed outside of small traces of light. It was a thoroughly oppressive atmosphere.

Raku-Raku seemed to hiss and dashed forward, passing up the others. Idaima and Jim picked up speed and suddenly, they were there: Fists raised, ready for battle. Raku-Raku stood, looking down at two large clumps of flesh.

"Did she ki-" Jim began but stopped. The corpse before them could not be identified using conventional methods. Traces of pink were overshowed by a grotesque pale color. It had the figure of a Majin, although it's entrails were spilled out in front of it. Various items were mixed within the innards, including money, food, props and costumes. The face was damaged beyond recognition. Jim crouched and picked up a bloodied, wooden helmet from a shrubbery.

Jim sighed. "We failed."

Neither of the escaped cannibals were Majins, nor were they heavyset, nor were they female. They were staring at the corpse of Ms. Gruk, the friendly Majin who simply wanted to entertain the masses.

"Yes..." Raku-Raku whispered and turned to examine the next corpse. It was the body of a large Saiyan, his body and face covered with mysterious tattoos. He wore very little clothing, only a loin cloth and a heavy fur coat, which was dripped in his blood. His teeth were sharpened and scars covered his flesh. Raku-Raku crouched over him and peered closely at his stomach.

"He was imparrr-" Raku struggled getting the word out. "Imparred. Stabbed, prrrrobabrrry with a spearrrr."

"Was Ms. Gruk a weapons specialist?" Jim asked.

"No, she favorrrred ki and hand-to-hand." Raku-Raku responded.

"So the second cannibal killed him?" Jim folded his arms. "According to the Light Weavers, Mr. Spear slaughtered one of his own kind before fleeing. I wonder how this civilization thrives if they do that so nonchalantly."

"No," Raku-Raku frowned. "This is a Saiyan. The two abductorrrrrrrrrrs werrrrrrrre human."

Now that was a twist. Who was this guy and what happened to the two people who took Ms Gruk in the first place?

Idaima glanced down at the dead bodies. What a pity, it was always sad to see ones comrades die. Though he had never really worked with or gotten to know the Majin she was still one of his class mates. Still, despite his shock Idaima did his best to mask his emotions and keep a blank face. After all it was one of the basic ninja rules for a ninja to kill ones emotions. The mission was all that mattered and emotions could jeopardize not only the mission but the lives of the ninja and his team mates.

Glancing around the surrounding area he sensed for any near by power levels, barely keeping track of what his two companions were saying. If there were saiyans among these cannibals then it'd be best if they got out of here before a full moon happened. As strong as they were even they would struggle against a group of oozeru.

"These Cannibals are savages" Idaima stated plainly "For all we know they might of killed each other for the best pieces of meat or maybe there are rival factions within the village. Raku-Raku, grab the body. Gruk was one of us and she deserves to be buried back at the village. Jim, get rid of this cannibals body. We might not of been able to save Gruk but at least we can deny those bastards another meal"

Jim had no emotional attachment to Lady Gruk and quite frankly, felt little about the death. He was a veteran survivor of the Undred Wars, where he had learned to tolerate death. It was natural for mortals to die, especially in hostile territory. His main concern was how poor the village defenses were. How did they sneak through without being caught? He eyed the dead cannibal. He fit the definition of 'savage', but how were they outsmarting the more advanced Kamehameha Village?

He heard Idaima's order and resisted the urge to feel annoyed. He liked Idaima alright, but the boy was technically beneath him in rank. Although perhaps with the way things were going, that would change. Shiroma Senju would certainly be a ruthless leader and his mobility made him a more ideal general than Kentaro. Perhaps that would be the best for the village, but Jim was personally against it. He could only imagine the iron fist that the Senju Clan would rule with. Spies everywhere. Punishments for petty infringements. Jim liked the feeling of freedom. It was an unusual dilemma. But to the credit of Shiroma, at least he had an eye on what was going on outside of the village. Everyone else didn't seem to think that far.

He raised his hand and prepared to obliterate the corpse when the sounds of movement caused them to freeze.

"Back, hide!" Jim whispered as they all vanished in the trees. One by one, 10 rugged Saiyans emerged from the brush. They more-or-less resembled the dead body based on their tattoos and rugged appearance, although they were obviously not dead bodies. Some were armed and none looked weak. Unfortunately, none were female, but the changeling never thought they made for good eye candy. They spoke a foreign dialect that Jim thought he understood...albeit brokenly.

They eyed the corpses and laughed. One made a vulgar statement that might have been a sex joke. Something about being penetrated. The fool. Jim could think of 1,000 funnier lines. One Saiyan did not join in the laughter. He was an ancient man, his skin looking so dried out that he might as well have been made of wood. He wore more clothing and carried a staff. He was peering into the trees, although nothing about his demeanor sensed he could sense them. Now the group was wondering who the Majin was. The elder responded: "Food".

Five of them buried their fingers into the flesh of their dead friend and began tearing out large red chunks, stuffing them greedily into their mouths. Jim could tell Raku-Raku and Idaima were repulsed, but the consumption of man was all too familiar where he came from. Honestly, he thought it was a boring spectacle. The remainders focused on the late Ms. Gruk, testing her entrails and rummaging through her discarded items. Jim remembered that he still held her wooden helmet. A shudder went through him and Jim stood still.

Raku-Raku was letting out an awfully dark aura. His eyes practically glowed red and the sockets surrounding them seemed sunken in black. He could've sworn fangs had sprouted from his jaws. In retrospect, their positions were ill-advised. They were too close. Too vulnerable. If they were positioned in a more spaced out manner, they could always ambush the enemy if caught. Jim eyed Raku cautiously, wondering if he was about to do something incredibly stupid.

'Calm down,' he whispered.

Idaima grit his teeth and tore his eyes away from the brutal spectacle long enough to notice the looks on Jim and Raku-Raku's faces. He was surprised by the level of blood lust and killing intent coming from the normally passive lightweaver. Was this his true power bubbling to the surface? More interesting through was Jim, the changeling had a look of understanding on his face and Idaima wondered if he knew what these savages were saying in their guttural language.

The Senju ninja considered their position for a moment. 10 enemies, all around 30 power level with that elder being around 40. They still had the element of surprise, and Idaima reckoned that each of them were strong enough to kill a cannibal right off the bat. They clearing where the cannibals were currently devouring Gruk had no cover either. Slowly he moved over to Raku n Jim.

"No, let Raku go. We weren't able to bring Gruk back but we can at least avenge her. Our honor demands it. These guys are weak and we have the element of surprise. Give me 5 minutes to sneak around to the other side of the clearing, then attack them with everything you got. Once you gotten their attention I'll hit them from behind"
