The CommonWealth of Scottopian Isles![]() Geography The CommonWealth of Scottopian Isles is an archipelago of islands located in the Scottopian Sea at the confluence with the Cabbinos Sea to the south and the Galenean Ocean to the North. It lies between latitudes 29° and 34°, and longitudes 152° and 164°. The main island, Scottopia, is 7,468 square miles, constituting most of the nation's land area and is the 11th largest island in Longe Attingit by land area. Scottopia consists mostly of flat to rolling plains and forests apart from the Inverclyde Mountains in the North-East, whose highest point is Mt. Moore (3,498ft). The second-largest island, Ibrox Island, with an area of 2,204 square miles. Its tallest peak is Mt. Ferguson (1,296 ft) which is a dormant volcano. This is the most geologicly active island due to its loction next to a fault line. Cappilow Island is the third-largest at 929 square miles and the second most Eastern geographicly. Its hilly terrian is home to most of the untouched rainforest in the nation. The CommonWealth of Scottopian Isles has a total land area of 17,253 square miles, the remaning amount is made up by the other islands under the nations control. Geology According to plate reconstructions, the islands are believed to have been formed by the collision of terranes from the A'ne Plate (forming the western and southwestern mountians), from the Xia Plate, and the low laying islands come from the Osland Plate retreating towards the Galeneian Ocean Climate The local climate is tropical, moderated by northeasterly trade winds that blow year-round. In general (with local variations per island), there is a drier season from April to October, and a rainier season from November to March. The average temperature is 81.6 °F. The warm temperatures of the Scottopian Sea and the fact that Scottopia sits across the entrance to the Cannibos Sea combine to make the country prone to frequent typhoons. These are most common in September and October. Ocean currents are usually calm surrounding the islands. |
