premise You are the psychiatrist, psychologist, and clinical social officer Oliver Pangolin, hell-bent on curing deranged cultist Arnold Lemna at the behest of your fellow finest in the medical field and the police.
Nothing has worked. He is irreparable as far as modern medicine.
But future medicine offers a solution, if a risky one, so you can help him through other means.
The experimental Psyche Invader application of the immersion device will allow you to forcibly enter a constructed mindscape created by the powerful and precise if hard to comprehend immersion device AI. For some reason, it is an RPG.
You are in the Base Camp, the consolidated version of Arnold's mental construct safehouse and surrounding mental constructs' chambers. With your cohorts in the target's mind, you are to attack the cultist persona Wrath and thus get him to relinquish control over Arnold's cores.
Said cohorts are as follows.
Instinctua is brief desire and built-in proceedings, the fighter/ranger/farmer archetype, as the name implies anchored in instinct, who focuses on subconscious and conscious impulse, represented as the physical damage dealer. She is feisty and active but can be provoked into fervent yet restrained religious natures, much as you'd expect from the warped instincts of a broken cultist.
Medicino is medicine, the offensive magic user archetype, obviously mired in treatment and desire to improve, focusing on altering the subtle interplay of chemicals in the brain, represented as magic. He is arcane, vaguely inhuman, blunt, sometimes excessive, and capable of being brutally manipulative and damaging or healing in many measures. You would obviously expect that.
Monitora is wisdom, viewing, and protection, the cleric/thief/narrator, bent on actually protecting Arnold unlike everyone else as a monitor, who works by directly limiting or interfering with things as a force in her own right, represented by...different magic, and physical actions. She is basically every other monitor entity in everyone's brains ever, the Robert Joe of excessive defense yet golden trust.
Brutus is someone you can hate, the tank/paladin, made of emotion and intent. He is between, and works the same between physical damage and different magic. He is deeply emotional, like Instinctua but far more intentionally brutal.
You command these forces through yet another GRPGS mod during certain phases of battle and the standard tell-me-I'll-do-it fashion otherwise.
