The narrator box was never particularly secure, to be honest. Through the whimsy of parties unknown, a dark clone of it has been spawned, with a very special purpose. That purpose is destroying certain things which should not be, particularly the nigh-omnipotent contest-masters who once agitated...somebody. We're not sure, exactly, but we're pretty sure Vanguard is at fault somewhere in the matrix. This idea is in Conceptual Works because we have no idea how to explain it happening, etc. Unfortunately, due to all the jailbreaking involved, the thing goes rogue and starts *tunneling* off into the distance under its own power, intent on blowing up the offending *worldwarp enemies* for their excessive lore incompatibility. Even worse, the already flimsy box security just died entirely, leaving exploitable plothole doors which people can use to escape into its strange innards. This is a problem, as narrator boxes are inherently designed to provide massive control over the flow of the story, and thus the *flow* of the *world*. Worse, the thing has a brutal case of eldritch infestation as the rules of reality *slide*, *collapse*, **CONFLICT**, and other *things*. Of course, it ironically becomes host to the very thing it means to destroy, as those who wander in come into conflict with the *fighting-puppets* of those it is attempting to remove violently from interference-related issues. tl:dr excuse to have a continuity-defying fight contest...by attacking things causing continuity-defying fight contests. Players operate on two levels: the IC-fighting-puppet and the part-OOC *throwing puppet* who summons things and throws them at the battlefield. Discuss? |
