Welcome to the Aeiou.

We are a community with almost no rules, and a very non-serious mindset. Shitposting is not an infraction of the rules here. In fact, it is the norm.

We are mostly active on our Discord, but larger projects such as the Absolute Magnitude tabletop game are discussed here on the forums.

Because SPOILERS I am trying to avoid, I will have to discuss some stuff with participants.

First,

1. Do we want to spend more time participating in the core part itself, or stay entirely around it? The former will be more involved but the latter will likely lead to having way less information on the Orzic Threat and not realizing it because you'll have very little to go on.

2. How much information you shouldn't know reasonably do we want to receive in the form of Mysterious Aid? Too many metaspoilers will ruin the point of figuring it out as you go and possibly scare off a major player if I run out of flowery description and have to start calling things what they are, and while it is theoretically doable with no Mysterious Aid, some abstract stuff you have to glean from the narrative, an 'assistant', or even mysteriously inserted knowledge may be necessary especially if you cannot figure out the puzzles. Like how to not die immediately once the THING starts.

3. Are you each willing to sacrifice an entire planet with all inhabitants but one probably going to die horribly with a guarantee if certain elements are in play? If not, we have an alternative prepared involving a sacrificial planet wandered out of Hell.

4. Backstories and beginnings. There are some 'familial restrictions' and mysterious structure placement which only make sense in hindsight but I can either casually manipulate things or waive it entirely, and I need to discuss how this is going to go down anyway. It is probably best if you leave the character disconnected from any lore-established characters and preferably unrestrained by bureaucracy for reasons that will become obvious later.

5. How ironclad are Fate and Time? Will they be as irrevocably locked in place as the original with any deviation leading to the deaths of everyone involved and a messenger from the untimes damned forcing things to the way they should be before perishing as mandated, or are we willing to relax?

6. As a corollary to the above two questions, are we willing to place essential duties in the hands of NPCs and/or Orzic involvement? It will greatly cut down your importance from 'actively involved in the meat of it' to remaining 'trying not to die' for much of the plot if it makes it as far as planned without getting ruptured horribly, but it will help round out playercount without drastic effort increases.

7. How kind should I be with enemy difficulty, action interpretation, and puzzles? This makes the difference between playing something easier than Skyrim with godmode versus playing the psychotic fusion of Golden Sun, Touhou, Professor Layton, Pinpricks In Space, Pirates vs. Ninjas, and Epic Battle Fantasy except all of the enemies are coordinating their attacks and zerg rushing you.

8. As a corollary to the above question, what lengths should I go to to ensuring failure other than someone going inactive will not be possible? It will drastically change the outcome if deaths start piling up, but it is fine to go through this with no safeties and you can still easily get the good endings.

9. Are you willing to time compress more situations and/or ignore certain other concerns than usual, and generally roll with anything I have to throw in? This will drastically change the timescale of everything.

Comments, concerns, answers? Applications? Please discuss.

1- Either way.

2- No metagaming. Let us be in the dark, it is more fun that way.

3- Sure. It is not like Aeiouian planets have any citizens, anyway. So, we probably would not even bat an eye if the Orz attacked one.

4- Not sure.

5- Time travel is nearly impossible to play well in something like this, I would recommend staying away from it entirely.

6- We should probably follow the whole "Each Player Controls Everyone From Their Nations" model. With an exception of like, minor actions and stuff.

7- You can throw whatever you want at us. I mean, Tinfect, Aeiouia, and presumably the Brotherhood have a lot of stuff that can easily compete with Orzic things. I mean, Aeiouia has Iris, and Tinfect can preform subspace shenanigans. If things get too extreme, I could always call in Iris, or Tinfect can start screwing with Subspace.

8- I am not sure. Inactivity is always kind of a difficult thing to deal with.

9- Sure, for the sake of flow and everything.

oh god that ended badly

Okay, new round. Try actually playing as your player characters, okay?

Actually, what the hell do we wanna come up with? Try flinging something in and I'll explain the room.
