Armor refers to any defense system that functions primarily through physical deflection and absorption of attacks through mass. Armor systems provide a wide range of choices for implementation, and complement a number of integral systems and technologies. The greatest issues with armor systems tend to be weight, restricted mobility, bulk, and cost. Some energy weapons may also seriously challenge the integrity of an armor system if it is not built to handle energy attacks.

There are four classes of armor based on size and protection:

Scout Class(AcS): Light armor that focuses on maximum mobility and minimum weight at the cost of only providing marginal protection.

Rifleman Class(AcR): Medium armor that balances protection and combat mobility.

Defender Class(AcD): Heavy armor that sacrifices mobility for exceptional protection.

Oni Class(AcO): Immense armor that is only viable with powered movement systems, but provides unrivaled protection and can support heavy on board weapons systems.
