Adventurer Name: Galafrone

Place of Birth: Seaside Town, Market Square
Base of Operations: The Winking Judge Pub

Gender: Male
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 316 lb
Eye color: Electric Blue
Hair color: Copper

First Appearance: TBA

Physical Appearance: Galafrone is a huge, wall of a man. He moves his bulk with surprising grace and his jovial manner infects all around him. He has a large red-turning-to-grey handlebar moustache and a thick head of hair that retains most of it's youthful colour.

Dress code: Plain white dress shirt and black dress pants under a clean white apron as his everyday work wear. When he ventures forth from behind the bar he hangs his apron on a peg and dons his favourite pea-jacket and a worn Gatsby hat.

History:

Born under the name Sid Galatama, Galafrone's parents were wealthy merchants. Young Sid was destined to continue increasing the family fortune through shrewd business practises. Shrewdness, however, proved to be beyond his capabilities.

A tragic Knob Goblin love potion experiment gone wrong left Sid an orphan at age 21. As sole proprietor of Galatama and Son, Sid realized that he could not compete with powerful, cutthroat businesses such as The Market. Sid was grateful to the Suspicious-Looking Guy from The Sleazy Back Alley who offered to supply the store with 'Nutritional Supplements'. He was pleasantly surprised when the supplements began flying off the shelves and thrilled when happy customers began bidding wars whenever supply ran low.

Less pleasant a surprise was the visit from the Council goons; the thrill he got from his arrest for corrupting the youth of Seaside Town wasn't one he'd ever care to repeat.

In a holding cell Sid met a sympathetic Higgy who recognized that, with Galatama's meat profits from his goofball business, their release was a sure-thing. He offered to take care of the details of bribing and ensured his own release in a matter of hours. Youth Corruption, however, is a serious offence in Seaside Town and it proved more difficult to get Sid off the hook.

In the end Sid Galatama was forced to accept the revocation of his merchant's license and was then exiled from The Kingdom forever. Even naive Sid couldn't help but wonder if Higgy had just stolen all of his meat and then managed to have him deported. His worry proved unfounded when the judge, after pronouncing the exile of one Sid Galatama, winked.

The next words he heard coming from the bench were these: "Now, I have before me the matter of a name change. Mr. Sid Galatama, formerly of Seaside Town has requested that he be heretofore known as Galafrone. I hereby grant the request." There was a long pause as the judge stared meaningfully at Higgy who produced a nondescript brown envelope. The Judge winked once again, "Ah, an application for citizenship from a Mr. Galafrone. Yes, yes everything seems to be in order. Welcome to Seaside Town Mr. Galafrone."

As they walked out of the council Hall together Higgy turned to Galafrone and asked, "So, do you have any plans for that old store of yours?"

Skills and abilities (main strengths):

Galafrone is likable; years of serving drinks have made him empathetic and he's great at handling the mood of a large crowd. The patrons of his bar all have stories of 'Uncle G.' talking them out of costly and painful drunken brawls.
Freed from the money-management side of running a business (thanks to Higgy's helpfulness), Galafrone proves to be a talented fund-raiser, able to convince folks to part with large amounts of meat for a good cause.
Consensus building, people management and conviviality expertise, are Galafrone's main strengths.

4-5 Strong points (Additional minor strengths):

Uncle G. is a proficient and frugal chef. He can whip up filling, satisfying vegetarian meals at the drop of a hat and he always knows what booze goes with each dish.
Galafrone has always been lucky and remains convinced that each stroke of misfortune is merely an opportunity in disguise.
Since installing the pool table in The Winking Judge, Galafrone has become deadly with a staff. He keeps his chefstaff near to hand has been known to use it to painful, comic effect whenever his talk-'em-down approach to asshats fails.

(main) Weaknesses:
Naivet? is Galafrone's big weakness. For all his ability to bring out the best in others, he remains strangely blind to inherent flaws in those same people. He's a sucker for a hard-luck story and Higgy continually has to run interference to prevent being drawn into the trials of strangers.
Generous to a fault. Galafrone has found that wealth seems to appear whenever he has need of it. Such conviction in Windfall Economics has led the development of a cavalier attitude toward personal possessions.

3-5 Weak points:
Rules aversion: The Unfortunate Incident of the Mislabelled Goofballs is indicative of Galafrone's fundamental lack of legal comprehension. He does what seems like a good idea at the time and isn't concerned with popular conventions or arbitrary systems of value. Combined with the strange views he holds toward to property law, this attitude often leads to differences of opinion with other citizens of Loathing.
Heedless enthusiasm: Galafrone keeps himself poised to accept cosmic Gifts disguised as everyday choices. He's prone to jump head-first into a project and chooses not to worry about potential problems. Occasionally this can lead to great profits, but then again ...
Speed Demon: The invention of Bitchin' Meat Choppers unleashed in Uncle G. a passion for racing unparallelled anywhere else in the Kingdom. Galafrone will race anyone, anywhere and is constantly tinkering with his Chopper to eke out more power from the meat engine. If only he paid more attention to the road ... Only his extraordinary good luck has kept Galafrone out of traction. His inability to finish a race without crashing is legendary, but his inner fire to someday cross that finish line remains unquenched.
