Indeed. I did notice that there are quite a few Vinagi (bahaha) in the region. I am honored to be amongst some of the region's best though.

There's some joke about quality over quantity here...

Honestly if I'd have known the trend would pick up like this I wouldn't have made Acheron's adoption as my brother known or have adopted Ashton openly. No offense to anyone recently adopted...but it seems like adoption means nothing anymore. It's a gift and has a meaning in my book....not something that should be done frivolously or often. I adopted Aioros as my brother months ago because I knew he would honor the name with his previous and current contributions to NationStates, Ainur, and personal friendship with myself. I adopted Ashton as my son because he was one of the few who kept RP alive during my absence, has remained dedicated to Ainur, and from personal admiration. I'm not saying any of those that have been adopted haven't been adopted without a good reason and I'm not saying that any have been adopted without good reason, but am I misguided in making my adoptions mean something? Or should we reconsider adopting every person in NationStates who doesn't mind having Vinage tacked onto the end of their name? If you're gonna dislike this Alex you might as well post a rebuttal.

You can wait a god-damn minute. I have a life to live.

Anyways, to me also, it holds a special meaning to become my son/brother/uncle/nephew, whatever. But to your remark about adopting everybody, you do NOT know my history with Reaver. Maybe I have known him for years. Maybe I know him in Real Life. You do not know what conversations we have had that led us to becoming family. No one has been adopted into the Vinage family on a whim.

I have 5 kids. I only adopted 3 of them and they are all worthy.

Alex, Drecq and you Bayard. I then go Acheron and Grey as kids who are both worthy. Cali is a hard worker and I admittedly do not know about Reaver. I hope to get to know him soon though. Ashton is definitely worth it. So, basically, while there are a lot of adoptions going on, they are all worth it.

Alright. Calm down. I know you have a life and my apologies for those I've offended. I just want to draw our attention to something. I'm perfectly fine with adopting whoever you wish on whatever basis you wish. I'm just questioning our frequency of adoptions. The more we adopt and the faster we adopt them the less serious we're taken as a family. NS is just a game. Families are just a gimmick to improve that game. I realize this, but it's the exclusivity of a family name that gives it it's value. Be pissed all you want. I'm not calling Reaver out or anyone out for that matter. I'm simply saying I know of only one or two adoptions into the family after I was adopted yet before I made mine known. And Ainur has seen the massive amount in the week or so following. My "adopting everybody" remark was made in exaggeration in regards to the frequency of adoptions.

Excellent point. Those I've met since adoption have seemed worth it, but let's take it slow. Or we won't be taken seriously.
