Since these adoptions seem to be in vogue at the moment, I wanted to announce that I've appointed Acheron as my Heir, the Hereditary Duke, in my region of Normandy. He also gets the title of Duke of Orleans.

Congratulations Acheron :D

PS, don't ask how this affects Acheron's membership of the Mercer family, because I don't know :P Let's just say he's simultaneously in both...

Get your mind out of the gutter! Your daddy is not losing his happy bits but gaining a title that you can one day inherit. The good thing is you can rule without having a husband my darling daughter

Liber Judiciorum as codified 642/643 and expanded on in the Code of Recceswinth in 653, women could inherit land and title and manage it independently from their husbands or male relations

I am just saying she would not have to share her title with you, she may choose to do so but by no means can be forced to.
