Not sure if this belongs in the Culture Ministry, but, before it was canned, Lady Nyx -did- send me a PM inviting me to enter the writing contest...in any case, would people here like to read Atonement, the story I am writing (-still- writing...I started in 2007, haha), set in Hampshire, and detailing the final defeat of Lord Alphanesia? I am finally back to writing it again, and will shortly be posting another chapter, so, I could release chapters here over the next few days if people here would like. :) It's already up in Hampshire and Europeia and TNI and a few other places (granted, the threads are buried under several years), but if you're interested, don't go peeking! I'll post all here. :P

If a few people would like me to post it I will, but, is here the right place, or somewhere else? :)

Hmm you're going to have trouble publishing it with that name due the rather famous novel and film of the same name :P . But that aside, I would like to read it; I'm not sure where you would post it though.

I began writing a short story last year called "The Poppy Fields" about a boy who lies about his age to join the British Army in WW1 in order to find his father who was sent to the trenches. But, sadly I never got round to finishing it.

I know. I started writing this at the beginning of 2007; sometime afterward I heard of the book, and then not long after that they brought out a movie. Wasn't pleased.

Not that it matters; using NS characters, I can't really publish it professionally. It's fun, though, and is good for working on my writing skills for books that I -can- publish.

I sympathise with you on the second part. Anumia always finishes everything he starts, but sometimes the time required to do so stretches out towards infinity. :P

I'm adamant to finish it, it's just finding time to do so.

I thank you. Although I doubt I'll get it finished before September, and I leave NS in September, so unfortunately I won't be able to share my work with any follow NSers. Bar the first chapter I published on the UK forum.

Just pursuing a career which doesn't give you time for trivialities such as NationStates unfortunately.

EDIT: Yes, that's it. I'm going to the Undying Lands; via the Grey Havens.

*chuckles* Then you'd have literally all the time in the world to spend on NS. :P
