The Roost is a 2005 horror film directed by Ti West. Zombies and homicidal bats terrorize four teenagers stranded on a mysterious farm.

If this is as good as House Of The Devil (another West film) and better than The Innkeepers I'll be satisfied. (thumbsup) Any of you guys seen it?

Well...it was better than The Innkeepers but not MUCH better, unfortunately. I loved the 'late night classic Horror movie marathon' feel that it had with the bookended scenes with Tom Noonan. I loved the look of the film, the location, and the coolness of bats being the main villain. Sadly, it took a minimalist approach to EVERYTHING - from the gore, to the deaths, to the characters, to the dialogue, to...everything. I'm all for 'keeping things simple' in movies but this was almost TOO simple...and very, VERY slow. Not sure what is with Ti West directing such slow movies but along with The Innkeepers, this is the only one that actually bored me at times. (wary)
It's still worth watching though, but it's not his strongest film by ANY means.

The Sacrament > House Of The Devil > The Roost > The Innkeepers > Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever of the ones I've seen so far.

6.5/10 quality. 5/10 entertainment.
