Horror Quote Of The Moment

Welcome to Under The Morgue.

We have sections for each decade of film, from the 1910s onward, as well as sections for 10+ major franchises, close to 50 'smaller' franchises (containing five entries or less), creative writing, independent filmmaking, photography, music, Non-Horror films and TV shows, forum games, and boredom busters, and to top it all off there's an IM shoutbox at the bottom of the page for random chat. From the tame and 'kid sister friendly' to the psychological and mindbending to cheesy splatter flicks to hardcore torture-oriented horror, there's something here for everyone, so why not dive in?

After being sent to the electric chair, a serial killer uses electricity to come back from the dead and carry out his vengeance on the football player who turned him in to the police.

Can't you see it? The effects of cinema violence on society?

The special edition is going to be really hard for me to resist. I wasn't going to even consider getting it if none of the gore that was edited out was put back in, but I really want it now that I've seen the special features.

^^Once again, Scream Factory puts out a film in a version I want in a format I can't get. Why can't they do DVD versions as well with these collector's edition Blu-Rays? Some of us still haven't made the format upgrade yet.
Do illiterate people get the full effect of alphabet soup?

Some people are like slinkies: not good for anything, but you can't help but laugh when one falls down the stairs.

^ Hehe, I'm sure working in electronics certainly adds an air of nostalgia and fun to your experience watching this movie.

I just love how enjoyable this movie is. As much as I love Wes Craven's more "serious" films, I think it is in films like Shocker and The People Under the Stairs, the ones that don't take themselves too seriously, that he actually shines pretty damn bright.

Either those or Music of the Heart. ;)

This was very satisfying up until the last twenty minutes or so when it went from being a really effective but slightly campy little sort-of-slasher/serial killer/etc film to being a film that felt like an only-slightly-better version of the godawful video game sequence in Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare.

Still, even with it's mostly bad ending (that also ended abruptly and randomly), it's a really good film and I'm pretty sure it'll still be my favorite electric chair related Horror film of the late 80s. And there's more of those released in a 2 year period than many may think! (lol)
I really loved that this film had some balls when it came to who lived and died. It was obvious after a while that one character in particular was NOT going to bite the dust (that's fine though since there would've been no movie without that lead, lol) and if he WAS going to, it wouldn't be until the last second. Everyone else though? Totally fair game and the first half hour alone through my expectations out the bathroom window, drug them back inside, and repainted the walls with them not once but twice! Major props for
Spoiler: click to toggle

The performances were tolerable (but a tad hammy at times, which is still okay with me). I can't remember the score BUT they used a couple of really good songs in the soundtrack. It was well shot. The pacing wasn't sluggish at all which is quite the feat for a 109 minute film that probably didn't need to be any longer than 90 minutes, if that. If the ending hadn't been such a booty mess, I'd gladly throw an 8+/10 at this but alas;

6+/10 quality, 7/10 entertainment.

When I rewatched it, I was surprised by how much I liked the supporting characters, because I didn't really remember much about them.
