Directed by Matty Beckerman and written by Robert Lewis, the film concerns a vacationing family that encounters an alien threat. It's apparently based on the real-life Brown Mountain Lights phenomenon in North Carolina.

Well nothing creeped me out. Its just a plain found footage with aliens. There were a few scenes I liked though. You can watch it for the entertainment factor, but don't expect to be scared

I would say that everyone can safely skip this. A lot of the better stuff was inspired by scenes from other movies (Signs, War of the Worlds, and The Stand are the ones that stand out the most). The acting's a bit rough, but I think the blame might lie largely with the direction and the script. The lead-up isn't too long, but the best scene is also in the first half hour of the film. The movie manages to feel too long, even though it's only around an hour and fifteen minutes long before the never ending extra scenes during the end credits. I don't really know why they think anyone would actually want to sit through the end credits to watch more of the worst part of the movie.

It might also be the rare movie that suffers from not showing the creatures enough. They got really good special effects artists to design the aliens, and the aliens looked great. Instead, they show a really cheap scene with a bunch of lights.

That sucks. This didn't look half bad, though I expected a full blown knock-off of The Fourth Kind with some Blair Witch elements to it,

Can't you see it? The effects of cinema violence on society?

Well crap. (cry) Oh well, I'll still have a double feature of this and Extraterrestrial or whatever that other new (and supposedly better) alien movie is.

Not yet. I'm about to start it in an hour or so after I eat. I won't have that double feature after all. I'll just watch Extraterrestrial some other day.

THe way the opening was filmed was a pretty cool, somewhat disorienting way to start it off. I liked it even though it spoiled the ending in a way. (wary) They did an okay job when it came to casting witnesses, researchers, etc. but Im glad that part of the movie didn't go on any longer than it did. Lake Mungo did it better. Its cool that they used a real location as well as a real 'thing' to base this around. I looked it up after watching it and sure enough, the Brown Mountain Lights are a real thing.

Riley was adorable. The other, older son was pretty cute. The use of that "smell yo dick" song was priceless. I kind of wish the whole 'specimen number ___' thing with Riley and various 'critters' had bee used more. They showed the lights/flashing a bit too early for my liking. Peter really pissed me off with is outbursts of anger over small things. Chill dad, chill. (un)

I think at the beginning they said only seventeen people had vanished but there were almost two dozen vehicles in the tunnel. Uhm?
The tunnel scene and the minutes that followed were very intense and had me on edge bigtime, even when the tragically overused 'birds thing' happened. This handled it better than a lot of other paranormal/alien/etc films have. Sean was really annoying at first but I grew to like him in small doses. I really liked the mom; she was definitely my favorite character and rarely annoyed me

The final two = predictable. The 'barn prayer' bit seemed like a great trailer moment. I think this should've been titled "Ghost Lights" instead of the cheesy and plain "Alien Abduction." The sound of the aliens' machines reminded me of War Of The Worlds (2005). The ending was a pretty great little jolt but should've lasted longer and been as intense as the tunnel scene.

I HATE HATE HATE that

Too many interviews at the end too, I would've rather theyd kept all of those in the opening with MAYBE one or two short ones to sort of book end it. But 12 minutes of shit? Pshhh.
The end credit music was really good though.

6/10 quality, 7/10 entertainment.
