Horror Quote Of The Moment

Welcome to Under The Morgue.

We have sections for each decade of film, from the 1910s onward, as well as sections for 10+ major franchises, close to 50 'smaller' franchises (containing five entries or less), creative writing, independent filmmaking, photography, music, Non-Horror films and TV shows, forum games, and boredom busters, and to top it all off there's an IM shoutbox at the bottom of the page for random chat. From the tame and 'kid sister friendly' to the psychological and mindbending to cheesy splatter flicks to hardcore torture-oriented horror, there's something here for everyone, so why not dive in?

Trapped inside an abandoned building, a group of friends must fight for their lives from a disturbed ax-wielding maniac.

I seriously ADORE that poster! Part of the mask reminds me of My Bloody Valentine and the plot is same old but it sounds cool. Gonna see if this is on Amazon so I can pre-order it.

I love everything about the poster except the obnoxious, glaring red font of the tagline. And yeah, this sounds like it could be pretty good. (thumbsup)

March 12th was the VOD release, and April 1st is the dvd release, according to HorrorSociety.

Rented this and watching it either tonight or tomorrow afternoon! Either way, expect my review for this (and Germ Z) to be up Sunday. ;o Pretty excited, even though its shorter than most slashers (78 min. or so).

Watched it two days ago with Robby and our friend Anthony (who is not that big of a Horror buff so of course he was super squeamish and saying "AWWWWH SHUT THE FUCK UP D:" whenever something gnarly would happen). I really liked it, despite its slow start (took a solid half hour for the kills to start up) and a couple of annoying characters. With a cast of ten (seven men, three women), the bodycount was rather low (between 6 and 9, all I'm saying ;) ) BUT the set up was fantastic. I loved the fact that it was a Scare Tactics show (called Scary Antics) and that a lot of things were recorded, we would see some things happen on the computer monitors and cameras (but the whole film isn't found footage, don't worry).
There were also some juicy conflicts in the group of characters. One wants her fifteen minutes of fame, one is totally dickwhipped by her 'meh' boyfriend who she always tries to impress, one is having second thoughts about the show, one is wanting a payraise to provide for her kid and to top it all off - her boyfriend (the baby daddy) is the leader of the show which has been flopping on the networks.

Now onto the part you're most interested in...the kills.

Long story short, we get over half a dozen wellspaced out, excellently timed, rarely bad kills. Only one or two stuck out in a BAD way. My biggest problem with the kills is that, while they were all onscreen, they were almost all pulled off by the same weapon - the axe. Thank God the axe is used in some pretty interesting ways and its not JUST a bunch of lame decapitations, so I forgive it.

I also wished that we hadn't had so many more male characters than female characters. Of course, it was a bit realistic that way and made for a somewhat surprising death order (someone I thought would die 3rd or 4th made it to the final 2 and someone I figured would be one of the last 3 standing was one of the first 3 or 4 to die).

Overall I'd give it around a 6.5/10 for quality, 8/10 entertainment. Good stuff!

Just finished it, and I cant say I liked it as much as John, but I still enjoyed it. I do wish

I really liked that the death order wasnt very predictable. The final three, I would have never guessed. Random, but I could see this getting a sequel?
