Young newlyweds Paul (Harry Treadaway) and Bea (Rose Leslie) travel to remote lake country for their honeymoon where the promise of private romance awaits them. Shortly after arriving, Paul finds Bea wandering and disoriented in the middle of the night. As she becomes more distant and her behavior increasingly peculiar, Paul begins to suspect something more sinister than sleepwalking took place in the woods.

Treadaway (CONTROL) and Leslie (HBO’s “Game of Thrones”) give captivating leading performances as a couple that takes new love to disturbing depths. With romance slowing giving way to terror, writer/director Leigh Janiak puts her unique stamp on this intimate, chilling thriller.

I'm kind of interested in this, but the teaser I saw cuts off before any scary stuff starts happening.

It's nothing like Paranormal Activity.

If this doesn't end up on my list of the best horror films this year, I will be very surprised. I really loved the two leads. Even when they were a little too cutesy, they still had really fantastic chemistry that made it easy to ignore their more annoying moments. It definitely helped that all of those moments paid off in a really unsettling way in the end.

It's a little more on the thriller side, and it had me on the edge of my seat. I wouldn't call it a slow burn, but there isn't any horror in the first half hour. It's one of those films that puts everyone involved on my list of people to pay attention to, because I'd like to see what everyone does next.

Ten minutes into this and I like it so far. The couple are so cutesy that it's both adorable and unbearable. The honeybee stuff is too much<3.

I've realized that I drastically favored the main couple being cute over just about everything else in the movie when I was making gifs, so I apparently really liked them.

The husband was also really cute so there's that too. I liked this a lot. I'll post my thoughts later tonight.

The opening with the road footage, happy engagement story, etc made this feel like it was going to end up being really gutwrenching. The 'honeybee' stuff was too cute. The 'quack quack honk' stuff reminds me of weird cutesy shit me and Robby do. (wary) Paul was REALLY hot and sent a lot of time either shirtless or nude, which was nice. I definitely need to keep a look out for the two leads in other things since on top of being attractive, they gave pretty strong performances too, especially in the last forty minutes or so.
It was annoying how many times Bea said "I'M FINE!" and I was actually tempted to rewind it and count how many damn times she said it but thankfully that stopped after a short while. I'm really glad we got so much time with the couple BEFORE things got bad since it caused it to be super clear that something was wrong. Bea's voice, mannerisms, phrasing, etc. I'd gotten so used to seeing her act and talk one way that when she changed it was really effective.
The boat scene was sexy at first and then just..ew. (cry) The last half hour had me totally glued to the screen and the ending was pretty dark and sad, with the last ten or so minutes feeling like a blend of elements from

without feeling like a ripoff of either.

MUCH better than expected and I'll definitely be remembering this one. I'll make sure to watch it on my own honeymoon. (coffee)

6.5/10 quality. 7.5-8/10 entertainment.

I rewatched this recently and enjoyed it just as much. it's always great to watch a movie with someone that is scared by it.

I can't believe the same company that made the posters for this did the ones for Scream Queens. They do a few great ones, but a lot of them are horrible.

Woah, really? O_O What the fuck happened?

One would think that their posters for a big upcoming TV show would be BETTER than the posters for a (great) movie that not THAT many people have seen.

Robby just reminded me that I still haven't watched this with him so we'll probably watch this soon.
