I just watched this. It was terrible, but it was on Netflix and the person I'm with is refusing to read subtitles. The last half our was dumb, and I'm pretty sure that it is majorly ripping off the plot of another movie, but I can't remember what it is. The first half hour was okay. It wasn't attempting to be scary yet, but I liked what they did with a parent's natural fears of their child talking to strangers. The non-ghost cast was actually really good. They should all do a horror movie with a better script. This is the first time I've actually liked Chad Michael Murray, and I apparently think he's attractive now. Even he can go make another horror movie. |

This wasn't as bad as I was afraid it would be but it also wasn't as GOOD as it really should've been. The documentary was much better. Still though, I really liked the location and some of the characters. Nothing scary about it though, except for the title which is absolutely horrifying. |

The title confuses me, too. A Haunting in Connecticut was made after a special with the same name talking about the "true" story. The follow-up to that documentary tells the story that this was based on, and they called it A Haunting in Georgia. Why couldn't they have called it that? The people that watch haunted house stories on TLC were able to figure out the two programs were connected. Now that I'm thinking about it, I wouldn't mind watching either of those specials again. They were pretty good. |

This turned out to be quite the enjoyable and exciting effort that has a lot going for it. Among the better qualities here is that at it's heart there's a rather impressive and enjoyable mystery that slowly gets unraveled here which makes for quite the enjoyable time here. The imaginary friend concept is taken to a great extreme here as there's no way for sure to know which side it's on as there's never a clear-cut answer whether it means good or harm, as despite the warnings of danger and the revealing secret about the hidden money there's still the numerous times it leads her into something dangerous where she experiences the terror of meeting up with the ghosts first-hand that are all quite shocking encounters themselves but simply further the true nature of his means. Those ghostly encounters, all hidden away in the woods around their home and centered around the main tree in the backyard are all quite intense and make for some truly chilling moments as the supposed peaceful nature of their behavior is contradicted by their startling appearance, and as there's more and more of them spread throughout it really deepens the mystery quite nicely by generating more and more backstory to tell what originally happened. That leads into the series of impressive ghost attacks throughout here with the trailer park sequence showing the one ghost taking out the taxidermy skills on the sister or the later bathtub attack that's truly frightening for it's realistic scenario warped around a ghostly assault here. As well, the ghost ambushes out in the woods lead to even more thrilling encounters where she gets trapped in the underground tunnels and is tormented from the shadows while awaiting help which is truly chilling and frightening, as well as a later scene where the ghost continually approaches her sitting in the truck as the illumination from the truck-lights shows it getting closer but remaining unnoticed during that time before launching into a harrowing attack and getting the biggest factor here in the confrontation within the underground bunker that allows the utterly-chilling main skeleton-ghost plenty of stalking time and the dimly-lit area to work to it's best advantage. There's not a whole lot here that doesn't work, as it's mainly centered around the central family here. Not only is the concept of the mother on prescription pills causing her to doubt her story's completely uninteresting, but even after all that's gone on those encounters should still be enough to warrant moving out of the house, a concept brought up and dropped immediately afterward. Likewise, the fact that this one keeps going back-and-forth about the history of the main ghosts' behavior as being either good or bad gets a little confusing with all the switches as it's hard to keep track of whether we're rooting for him or not by switching it up all the time, never focusing it on one specific viewpoint until it's past the point of caring. Otherwise, this one was quite a bit of fun. |

Do illiterate people get the full effect of alphabet soup? Some people are like slinkies: not good for anything, but you can't help but laugh when one falls down the stairs. My review blog: http://donshorrormovieblog.blogspot.com/ | |

As someone who didn't like the first Haunting in Connecticut much to begin with, I wasn't excited for this in the slightest. The awkward title did it no favors. |

I really liked this movie, I found this movie a lot more creepier then first movie, There was some really good scare scenes in this movie that last long then one Second, there not there just to make you jump. There some really strange effect in this movie, which I am not sure what to think of at the moment. Actually liked the fact this movie dose focus on, the same old route, Kid seeing a strange things, most of people in the movie see thinks, I liked the fact they do believe way before the end, which I think was nice change. I liked how the plot came to end was really good, there were really good tense moment in this movie. The ending was fitting end, Nice and sweet ending to this movie. The acting from everyone in cast was really good and the some of effect were really good in this movie. A lot better then I thought it would be, I going to give this sequel 7/8 out of 10 |
