![]() "The “Summer Camp” horror trilogy was one of the most popular movie franchises of the 1980s. However, the decade ended and so did director Julian Barrett’s career. Now Barrett plans to resurrect his gory series via a modern reboot patterned after reality filmmaking. With his former leading lady and an eclectic group of 10 young “contestants,” Barrett returns to the same locale where his old splatter-fests were filmed. When one of the campers is found savagely murdered, they discover there’s more at stake than just fame and fortune. Each of them is in a fight for their lives as they realize summer is over – forever." Edited by Vanessa, Sep 8 2015, 08:44 PM.

My kind of movie. But I have a feeling that nerdy looking girl swinging the machete in the trailer is gonna the survivor, which would be really predictable.

http://bloody-disgusting.com/news/3286440/felissa-rose-experiences-camp-dread-exclusive-clip/ Exclusive trailer and clip released! Danielle Harris is hardly in the trailer at all I have a feeling that she's going to be a glorified cameo.

I liked the trailer but I doubt Danielle will have a big role. Probably just a 10 minute cameo and they put her name on the DVD to get more buyers. |

Nah more like...five minutes, tops lol. I'll be surprised if she's actually a lead. Her role here will probably be as big as her role in Chromeskull. |

This wasnt bad at all, and I like how they tried to take an old concept and try to spin it in a new way, but unfortunately the story was rather far fetched and slightly ridiculous and confusing. With that said, I did like it, but not as much as I had hoped. Theres a few cool kills, and I even noticed certain scenes that were playing homage to Friday the 13th and Sleepaway Camp, so thats always nice. Not really sure why Danielle is used as a selling point for this movie, instead of Felissa Rose. She's well known by horror fans as well, and has a leading role, while Danielle had like....a total of 2 minutes of screen time lol. |

It's not something that I think I'll ever feel the urge to watch again, but it wasn't awful. The hints about the twists were a little too heavy, and I probably would have liked it more if I hadn't seen them coming. I guess the movie might have been confusing without them, though. I might have also liked it better with a different death order. |

Agreed about the twists being predictable as Hell. The Spoiler: click to toggle That said, this was really fun. I LOVED Felissa Rose in this! Danielle Harris was okay but not given anything to do. Still funny seeing her play a Horror-hating cop though, ha. The others were a mixed bag as well. Some of the guys were DAMN FINE. Novak (Joe Raffa)...yum. It was nice having a lesbian in the group<3. She was one of my favorites(but Rachel was the best) but Spoiler: click to toggle The pacing was shaky at times but once it going, it became really entertaining. Some of the kills were better than anything I expected from this. I expected dry, shitty kills but some were pretty impressive. Nothing AMAZING but there were a few satisfying deaths. Some of the characters were well developed too; loved all of the backstories given to everyone and how, while their stories took up a lot of time, they never stepped on the toes of what kind of movie this was - a fun, typical slasher. Its not without fault though. Lame, random ending, a couple of frustrating offscreen kills, etc but the pros outweigh the cons in my opinion. Also, the location was delicious lol. Loved how it really felt like a real camp! Mostly satisfying but not great or anything. i wouldn't mind rewatching it but it'll be a while 6/10 quality. 7.5/10 entertainment |

I did find it funny that Joe Raffa was in this and Hallows' Eve. I kind of wonder if he's going to start showing up in all the movies that Danielle Harris fake stars in. He looked really similar to a not evil guy in an actual reality show that I watched, which I found kind of off-putting. Spoiler: click to toggle
